Good for her!

How about that convicted GOP felon running in NY? Did he win?

Sheesh.

She already rubs me the wrong way.

Reminding me of JD types.

this is what i don't get and dislike such folks. Gillibrand is left of me but she is a fighter. pelosi is very corporate but she is a fighter for americans. to portray them as corrupt is just...wrong. I cant trust this person sorry.

yep this isn't going to bode well for the democratic party

Awkward lol

DUMB AS FUCK LMAAAOOOOO
You can and should try but don't suddenly throw a fit if the DSA candidate gets absolutely pulverized by the establishment Dem in said primary if that particular electorate decides to vote that way as it will in most areas of the country. Don't just take your ball and go home.

"Dont take chances to try and move the nation left! TOO RISKKYYYY"

I gotta say shit like this gives me the slightest shred of hope that we might be able to turn things around. We need more people of color and women in office. Fuck all these crusty old white dudes.

I think Gillibrand has the political guts to move left towards Ocasio-Cortez.

But sure, DEMS IN DIS ARRAY away.
Gillibrand's been moving left. The problem is that she's also in the Machine State of NY, and those things pull you in radically different directions.

This will be a big test for her politically going into 2019 and her presumed Presidential run.

This is one hell of a great outcome and should hopefully turn some heads in Washington D.C. on both sides of the aisle that a reckoning is coming.
You did good tonight, New York.

The year Cantor lost (2014) the GOP won the House popular vote by 5.7%. The wave's coming.
If Gillibrand loses, so be it. I don't think this is as much disarray as people are making it out to be
She's not going to lose her primary or re-election. She's obviously running for President in 2019/2020.

It's a better, simpler policy than "hope the economy's good!"
It's certainly not simple at all.

Universal Basic Income would actually be better and simpler, instead of trying to figure out the logistics of meaningless make-work jobs for tens of millions of people while automation is taking hold.

That debate that Crowley called for really screwed him over. She ran circles around his ass. She's someone people like me can identify with. Working, scraping to get by, having to take care of her family, etc. People can relate to that.

Oh, and they tried to screw her by movie polling places in certain areas or something like that. She tweeted about it a few weeks back. Glad that tactic didn't work.

While i agree, a jobs program is probably a far easier sell than UBI, given how reticent this country is with expanding its welfare programs....

The "[candidate] WANTS TO GIVE PEOPLE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY BY DOING NOTHING" ads literally write themselves (hell I just did write one)

Oh for sure, but Americans really want the 'dignity of work' and it's a better message

I can deal with loss, dude. Besides, I tolerate some Dems, but if they started talking like Manchin, then they wouldn't get my vote.

And over in the 9th District, Yvette Clark is barely beating a another young, more progressive challenger, Aden Bunkeddeko. Machine politicians ought to sleep a little less easy tonight,
