Well too soon to call it dead since Zip Lash came out last year along an amiibo. I imagine it sold horribly but I have an hunch they're gonna try one more time on Switch with classic gameplay before killing it off

The Neverhood. It had 2 releases (The Neverhood on PC and Skullmonkeys on PS1). I don't think we will ever get another game in the series. They released Armikrog but it isn't part of the same universe, and is just a successor.

Since 3, there was a PS2 remake, a fighting game on Saturn & in arcades, & most recently a 2007 God of War clone starring Tyris, notable for having Gilius Thunderhead (The Dwarf) swear like a sailor.

I was so hyped for EQ Next, I was crushed when I heard it was canceled :(
It is criminal. For next release, I wouldn't mind original NES Adventures of Lolo 3 graphics as long as they make some minor QOL-changes (water currents, able to tell which hearts give shots, how many hearts needed for power ups etc) and level editor. It was absolutely fantastic series left to die for no good reason. Shame on you, HAL and Nintendo.
Lolo is by far Nintendo's 2nd best puzzler behind Puzzle League. I won't touch Boxboy, but I'd pick up a new Lolo in a second
Running down the list confirms what I knew going in: Viewtiful Joe and Advance Wars are the ones that hurt the most.
I'm not sure about Unreal. If we count the Tournament spin-off series then clearly it is not dead as a new game is in development. If we only count only the mainline series then the series died back in 2003.
It's joined Jak and Daxter under the "mascots in eternal limbo" category.

Still waiting for 4th Birthday. Say what you want, I enjoyed 3rd birthday just as much as the original and more than 2.

I agree. Games don't have that style of weird anymore, even the music was weird. I loved everything about it. Claymation games aren't done very often or nearly as well. It's something they need to remaster like they planned.
Boxboy felt like one of those free flash games you find all over the net (though it did have some nice ideas). Wish they could have gone with a new Lolo instead.
I think Psi - Ops should be added, I think it is only one game. But to be honest, it deserves more.

I'd call Mother retired more than dead. Most of these games seem like there aren't new entries because they aren't being greenlighted, Mother told it's story and concluded with some finality.
I really hope so. I think a return to the original form of the game could do really well on Switch.

Am I the only one who doesnt think an IP has to continue on forever? I feel like some series are best left the way they were and we can go back and enjoy them as they were instead of beating the series into the ground and turning it into something we no longer love.
I mean I loved Waverace but I'd call Nintendo crazy if they decided to make a new one now.
