That's happening and you're using their plight to try (and fail at) scoring points on David Lynch. You and everyone else who participated in the pile on aren't helping a single fucking thing. The other thread went from "i disagree" to "he's pedophile" in record speed. This one has accusations that he is autistic. Go look at the "does social justice have an identity problem" thread and all 4 of the reasons listed are just scarily on point. Yes, they are talking points conservatives use, but they're totally applicable to some of the really bottom of the barrel posters.
Still, it gets characterized as "protecting David Lynch" but it's actually just a really perfect example of how fucked the dialog is on this site with political matters. It might come from some passion, it might be a masturbatory thing, end result is the same to most of us not involved.
So, fuck you and fuck everyone who have pretty much trampled on any good will this site was built on. A big part of that was making it so the reaction to a guy saying something imperfectly wasn't the same as kids getting locked in cages. Another big part of that was not treating anyone who doesn't follow the marching orders like they're a fuckin double agent. Another part of that was actually being able to hold level headed discussions. That's all out the window. We're still Neogaf OT.
And no, this isn't an angry "i'm leaving" post. Yeah i swear a lot but this is as matter of factly i can put it. Maybe this gets me banned, but the rest of the site is fine. Im sympathetic to the mods/admins. The fact that it's turning out just like Neogaf shows it's not an easy thing to solve.
Seems like a good time to check in and see how we're doing after all the interviews and proclamations that ResetEra was going to be different.
