All the goofs that are bashing Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, etc. are doing so simply because they're Xbox One and/or Switch owners and have nothing worth playing for the entire year of 2018. If that was me, I would be bashing Sony too just because I (like them) would be pissed off that the console I don't have will always have the best motherfucking games on it. As someone who owns a PS4 Pro, Xbox One X and Switch, there's literally only one game worth playing on each of the other two consoles which consists of a turn based 2.5D JRPG in Octopath Traveler for Switch and Forza Horizon 4 for Xbox One. Hell, when Forza Horizon is the highest rated game in the last three years it's launched and has the highest rating of all the Xbox One exclusives this generation, I would be very pissed off too. LMFAO!!!
Ghost of Tsushima is going to be fucking awesome!!! Being able to do a one hit kill like in the E3 demo if you time the parry just right will be great. And duels like at the end of the demo reminds me of For Honor but faster and better. Really hoping that Ghost of Tsushima is Sony's second major AAA title for 2019 after Days Gone. I'll be so happy.
2018 has given me God of War (goty, easily) and will give me Spider Man in September. Add in Detroit (which isn't for me though) and all those other console fanboys are crying their eyes out in sadness which I can't blame them. They should get smart and buy a PS4 Slim/Pro. Oh well. LOL.

There's plenty to talk about just with the games already announced. It's just that there are separate threads for those it seems. And we can speculate about what first party games Sony is working on for PS5 too.
Days Gone WILL be the best fucking "zombie" game of all time when it releases, guaranteed. Visuals 10. Music, sound and voice acting 10. Gameplay 10. That's how confident I am in this game. Will all come down to the story and characters which except for TLOU will have the best story of any zombie game of all time and since it's open world, will impress me more than TLOU since it was linear. Majority of open world games always have a shitty to average story. Days Gone will be one of the very few exceptions this generation.

That's irrelevant. The point is you think anyone who is critical of a Sony published game is a fanboy who doesn't have a PS4. You are wrong. Some of us really don't care which box a game is played on.
It's more meant to be funny than anything. I think a lot of exclusives on Xbox One/Switch are average or worse at best but you will rarely if ever see me go into those game's topics and bash them. Simply no point. Here though, I will defend them for one main reason - I KNOW that the games im defending WILL BE BETTER than what the other consoles offer.
What are you basing that on? People seem to love that game, it's getting pretty good impressions from previews, and the viewcounts on youtube seem to be able to keep up with the rest of the tentpole titles. I think they'll knock it out of the park.
I hope I'm wrong, but mechanically it doesn't seem very refined, none of the combat looks good. I watched a demo during E3, and one of the actual game devs couldn't kill a zombie five feet from him with a shotgun, that's how awful the controls looked. It also doesn't nearly hold 30fps, and yeah, optimisation comes late, but I don't trust it to be solid by the time they ship. Also, everything about the writing seems horrible to me. I also don't like the art.
I think it'll be fine, I suspect it'll review in the 70s, but as I said, forgettable. It was more that I was pissed at the console warring than I wanted to voice my disinterest in Days Gone. I don't tend to talk smack about games prerelease if they look rough or not. I wouldn't have mentioned it had that post not been so irritating.
That's a fair thought and there is nothing wrong with it, the problem is when someone "feels" the same but go to every thread about the game to state the same thing over and over again. It's clear that not everyone will like the same games but that does not warrant going on bashing it without reason every time it gets mentioned.
And if that was specifically the poster's complaint, that would be fine, but it wasn't.
He basically said anyone who doesn't swoon over anything published by Sony is blinded by first party bias, and I find that absolutely absurd, and totally unbecoming of a forum that is intended for adults to discuss an entertainment medium.
There are fanboys on here, of course, but sometimes, and I would imagine, most of the time, criticism is just that.
What is funny to me is that I don't expect people's outlook on the sales potential of Days Gone to change.

Actually, I don't think that nor do I care what others play/don't play or like/don't like. What I do care about is when people bash games that they have no interest in whatsoever or played a game, thought it was crap and then quit/sold/traded it in but still go into topics about those games just to complain about them. You'll rarely if ever see me do this because well, what's the point? I thought State of Decay 2 was worse than the original but I haven't talked about this game in any SOD 2 topic and if I mention it in the Microsoft first party topic, it's because I want to see that studio elevated or move on to another franchise because an SOD 3 can't look, play and run the same as SOD 2. Just no way.
Other than that, I posted once in the GOT topic and that's it. I'm not going to respond to others who are bashing the game yet have no interest in said game. Take you for example, you think Days Gone is generic, basic or whatever it is you think about the game is fine as it's your opinion but why reply/post about a game you seem to have no interest in? That doesn't make any sense to me.
I have zero interest in Dreams or Detroit and mild interest in Death Stranding but you never see me post about any of them because why would I when I have little to no interest in them? That's my problem. People bitch about games or whatever the case may be when they have no interest whatsoever in what they're commenting on yet feel the need to bash it for no apparent reason. I just don't see the point and me commenting on those games is the equivalent of you posting about Days Gone. I'm ultra hyped for it and if you're not, that's fine but why post about a game you seemingly have no interest in whatsoever?

Secondly, who are you to decide how this forum is to be used? You don't want a forum where people post negative things about games? Fine, set up your own. That is not the rules here, and posters are free to post whatever they like if it's within the ToS of the site, not based on your personal desires for the forum.
Finally, what makes you think not thinking a game is going to be good means it's not interesting or worth discussing to someone? Some of the most interesting games are ones I don't like. The process of development, the place of a game within the market, the technology, the resources allocated within a first party, etc, etc, etc. There are tons of things worth discussing about a game, even if it doesn't appeal to you. The fact that those things don't appeal to you for discussion is fine, but condemning those that do is just embarrassing.
I guess the real question is those people aren't breaking the rules, you are by condemning them, so why is that worth your time? Let them get on with it.
When Far Cry games reaching 80 at metacritic, Days Gone should easily also reach that score..
What I saw from Days Gone looks imo much more promising than generic FC5....
Reviewers aren't immune to the game design features that make Ubisoft games so popular. I personally got burnt out of them over 5 years ago but to each their own.
I mean I like the game but the story is garbage also the constant interruptions is really annoying.

I'm not deciding anything for anyone. After a while, it just becomes apparent that some people comment on games just to shit on them rather than actually discuss them and even worse, have zero interest in said game which makes shitting on said game even more apparent and worse.
I'm not condemning anyone for discussing anything. I just don't see why people talk about stuff they don't care about only so they can shit on it? I have no problem with being negative or posting legitimate complaints/issues with games but you have to have facts to back up those said complaints/issues. People complaining about GOT makes no sense because the game isn't even out yet and people are shitting on the game based on nothing.
It's not worth my time which is why you never see me post in those topics. I simply stay away. There's a lot of games and whatnot that simply don't interest me and if im not interested and thus, aren't going to do any research and learn about that particular game or issue, why would I comment on it?
People shitting on GOT is like me shitting on Dreams. I have no proof of how that game will be. No facts, no substance, nothing so why would I shit on a game that I know very little to nothing about? That's exactly what a good amount of that GOT topic is. All speculation and assumptions without any actual proof or facts whatsoever which won't technically exist until the game is released and those who want to play it can finally do so. And if at that time, people want to shit on it for whatever reason, at least they would hopefully have proof and facts to back up why they're shitting on it in the first place.
I haven't played FC5, but 3 and 4 are rubbish.
As for the point, I really just thought I don't think it'll be as good as InFamous Second Son, which sits at 80, and as a generation goes on, reviewers tend to be a bit more stringent, so I would guess mid to high seventies, if it's the quality I expect. It was just an aside though. I wasn't making a declaration for me to quote next year or anything.
And yet you posted about how you know that Days Gone will be great. That to me is 100% as stupid as people saying a game will be shit ahead of time. You don't know. Nor do they. You're just as bad as they are.
This is really irritating in threads where there's twenty posts saying 'Day One', 'I'm throwing money at my screen', but one post appears that says 'I don't know, the art seems off', and they get shit for adding nothing to the discussion, as if there was a discussion to being with.

85 MC is totally doable for Days Gone as long as the game is very polished.

I loved Far Cry 3 and 4 more than 3. Far Cry 5 is probably the biggest disappointment for me this generation and out of 70 or so completed games, that's saying something.
I think reviewers are biased and play favorites more than anything. Especially if it's a favorable developer/publisher or if it's a franchise that's been around for decades. If it wasn't for the fact that I already made an avatar bet with someone else regarding Days Gone, I would offer you an avatar bet. LOL.
For me personally, I say Days Gone will be great because based on what I have seen and read, it leads me to believe that it will be. I thought Horizon, GOW and Lost Legacy were going to be great and for me, they were all a 9.5/10 for me. I see Days Gone being at least a 9, perhaps a 9.5/10 but that will come down to the story and characters. Difference being is that outside of replying here in this topic, I don't even comment much on Days Gone. I simply don't need to because I know what the game setup will be like, I know what to expect and im very much looking forward to it all.
Criticism IS a bad thing if it's the same as Blind allegiance - shitting or praising a game without any actual proof/facts. In this regard, it evens out.
Is it jealousy? Is it that they can't tolerate games they don't like being so successful? I don't know.

I want to like the game but so far everything I've seen looks merely competent, and after 6 years of everything being open world competent doesn't really cut it anymore. Even the horde stuff just seems like constantly sprinting in a circle while you pick off a few here and there or shoot at a gas tank after running by it. It just doesn't seem like it'll be fun after a couple of hours.
Also wasn't really fond of them saying it's a locked 30 now when what was shown at E3 wasn't even close to a "locked" 30 lol.

You're doing the same thing that you claim to hate, on the other side of the scale. People are free to post their worries and hold-ups about a game, even if they're not that interested in it.
Days Gone looks like it has promise, but it also looks under-cooked which is not a good look when it has been in development for fuck knows how long. I think financially the game will do well and Bend will get another chance, but really they had all the time they needed and Days Gone is what they came up with. I don't have high hopes for Bend, which is a shame because they were doing good shit on the PS1.
You can just tell a mile away how a game is going to release in terms of quality and sales, my guesses would be:
-Dreams sells like shit but scores 90+
-Spider-Man is gonna be 80-85 and sell 5+ million, it is not going to get close to GOW though
-Days Gone looks like a low 70's game which sells a few million
-GoT I'm scared because Sucker Punch is my favourite studio and the gameplay so far looks like shit
-Death Stranding............how the fuck did Kojima get someone to fund that?

GoT's combat I think is kind of just a camera issue. If that demo had been from behind the character, and you had a hud, it would probable read a lot better than it did on the video. I don't know if that stuff was just for the sake of the trailer.
Not exactly. I never post about a game im not interested in, positively or negatively. That's exactly what some are doing in the GOT thread and just other threads in general. You see it all the time.
The main reason though is that unlike many others, I have 100% confidence in Bend Studio and here's why - rarely am I ever disappointed in a Sony published game that im buying and going to play. Sony simply doesn't disappoint me. Until they do and more than once in a row, I'll always be confident in their published games. I'm the same with Ubisoft. Thus far, this generation, only Far Cry 5 disappointed me but 15 or so other Ubisoft games this generation haven't. It's simply all about confidence in the game itself, the developer and the publisher. Everyone has their favorites, go to developers/publishers and whatnot. When you have that gut feeling, rarely will you ever go wrong. This is how I am with Ubisoft and Sony.

Maybe the camera looks unusual in the sense that even in combat it seems to be aimed or taken from the left field which isn't that normal for combat. I don't think I've seen many games with a camera angle like that for combat.

Its story, the awesome combat, the amazing world of HZD, the soundtrack, the main characte Aloy.... everything is just so damn great. That's the reason why it's still my game of the generation.
It even beats God of War for me (by a nose).
