YOU'RE OLDAll of you people underestimating Sweden. Excellent. It's coming home indeed.
YOU'RE FREE
YOU'RE HIGH MOUNTAIN NORTH
I don't know why that commercial was done in a World Cup WITHOUT Sweden (2014) and not now that they're playing.

Which I wouldn't have a problem with. ;)If England deliberately lose to get a better bracket you know they are going to lose to Japan on penalties or something.
Yeah, but I never said either of those? The idea that they can't be African AND play for the country where they grew up (or were simply born) has the same xenophobic idea as "If they're so proud of Africa, why don't they go back to where they came from?"
Your point was shit.
power of anime!
I know African teams don't usually do well in Europe, but this was their worst performance I've ever seen
Do you feel the same about Americans, Australians, South Americans, etc? Numerous national teams in those regions have people who are children of immigrants, or have a gran parent who immigrated from somewhere else. How many of those Saudi players have parents who came from to Saudi Arabia from abroad? Your argument is nuts.

Your argument was that Europe was snapping up the african talents, which is undeniably wrong.I was replying to the original comment that was in relation to African countries. I never said it doesn't affected other regions, but it's rife in relation to Africa.
Obviously the leader of each nation arm wrestles to see who advances.

Giving some of the subs a game, yeah. It doesn't really matter. So with England now making EIGHT changes to tonight's lineup, what does that mean?
Sending in the B-team to play whatever cus doesn't matter anyway?
Morocco played a very anonymous game against Iran but was unlucky to concede at the end. They gave Portugal and Spain a good game though. None of the African nations really impressed me.I thought Morocco played well and was just plain unlucky. Senegal played well albeit in a weak group. Nigeria wasn't great. Let's not talk about Tunisia and Egypt.
North American have better infrastructure and look at what they do with it.

Then the team highest on the FIFA ranking should "lose" since they have underperformed compared to the lower placed side.
It is known. The only reason I want to watch Belgium v. England is morbid curiosity. Surely it's going to suck as a spectacle?
I said standard of football. MLS & Liga MX aren't comparable to Brasileirao or Argentinian League. Money can only do so much
You do realise that these players are European born and that almost all of them regard themselves as Europeans? Many of those who end up playing for their parent's home country, do so becuse they want to play international football and can't crack their own national team. Look at the Welsh team and the number of English born players that play for them for example.I was replying to the original comment that was in relation to African countries. I never said it doesn't affected other regions, but it's rife in relation to Africa.
nope
But it's not like we're flying them out here when they're 15 just so they can get the nationality and play for us ? They're born here. It's ludicrous to say we're taking them away.I think it all comes down to some people viewing the situation as "Rich country takes talent away from poor country" since those players can choose to play for either country but again, since they are free to choose just let them do what they want to do.
You can't drive five minutes inside any Colombian city without encountering a football or microfootball field. When you look at Africa performance again, you have to give credits to South America.
You can be a poor continent and perform, even with shitty infrastructures.
Danny Welbeck actually playing in multiple World Cups is just bonkers.
It's crazy, especially when you see the sentiments of players like Lukaku who state emphatically that they are Belgian. Yet they have to face scrutiny from certain Belgians who don't think that they are true Belgians, and scrutiny from foreigners who think that they aren't true Belgians either. But it's not like we're flying them out here when they're 15 just so they can get the nationality and play for us ? It's the community shield.
Do not underestimate "weak" nations. The tournament has been teaching us this lesson from the very beginning.

Some like Argentina barely managed it. One of Spain/Portugal could have been knocked out on the final day as well. Down to the wire for both teams as well. Favourites have been shaky.I mean all of the favorites advanced?
Except for Germany who, considering the form they were in,would probably struggle against the Vatican
