To know this happened in our neighbor state is scary. Really sad about the losses and would hope America would step up on gun control and everything but at this point I highly doubt it. Sadly this event will be just another blip on the radar seeing how these type of things normally play out.

The Republicans do not care about anyone but themselves and their donors, so I doubt they will do anything about it since the NRA is one of them.

It's exceptionally hard to rid your fingers of fingerprints entirely - so he's either only partially succeeded or his fingers are quite mutilated. Anyway, he kind of wasted his time, because assuming he's a US citizen they'll figure out who he was very, very quickly.
being reported that the police now have a name ( I am assuming from people calling in), that they are in the process of confirming

Yeah, but its still weird he damaged his own fingertips. The only time I've of someone damaging their fingertips was when a very dumb classmate mishandled some chemicals and burned her fingers.

I've had some issues getting through newer customs procedures at airports because I have an eczema/skin condition that can wipe my thumbprints out completely until the attack subsides and my skin grows back. It's made for some very confused/amused interactions at airports that do more than just scan a passport.

Must have heard that on Reddit for 4chan. Dude going to extremes to not be ID'd when it's clear as fuck he will be. jfc dude own up to being an absolute shitpile of humanity and face the fucking consequences.
wellit's not like he isn't gonna face the consequences even if they don't identify him

he probably just had some "partners in crime" and he doesn't want the police to get to them through him

We're so worried about someone coming into the country and killing people that we forget citizens go on a killing spree at least once a month now.

I don't understand how Milo has any supporters. He says all this horrible shit to attract the scum of the earth as his fanbase, but anytime any of his rhetoric gets anywhere near being put into practice, he distances himself and whines "I wasn't serious!"
I think that explains exactly why he has a fanbase. It's the whole "free speech" thing. These people admire Milo's ability to say whatever he wants with no repercussions.

It does show a grade of premeditation that makes you wonder why he did this.
Yea it's definitely strange and makes this seem premeditated. Really curious to see what we learn about this guy going forward as he clearly has something he's trying to hide from everyone.

I swear I've known about burning your finger tips for years. I think maybe King of the Hill mentioned it or something. I swear I've seen it in movies too. I thought it was a commonly known way to hide your identity.

It's most likely not a workplace quarrel-shooting if he's hiding his ID.

People would ID him immediately if he was a regular there.

The Police apparently arrived in a bloody minute. Excellent response from the police! They should train all of them to be this effective.

RIP to all the victims :( I'm praying for the injured. It's a shame twitter right now is filled with "both sides" nonsense....

True. Unless it was some enraged janitor that was convinced no regular staffers at the paper recognized him, it's hard to believe he would disable fingerprinting as an ID method if he wasn't already certain that no one at the office would know him.

Crazy thing is a lot of people are in Annapolis today for I-Day (induction day), when the graduating class of 2022 at the Naval Academy begins their introduction to the school. So, lots of families in town for that. It includes a fly-by (just happened moments ago). I wonder if people might confuse the fly-by as being part of the shooting.

Police say he used a long gun.

I've worked for law enforcement for almost seven years now, and that term has always referred to their AR-15s.

I have not once ever heard a shotgun referred to as a long gun.

This is my assumption as well. Anything is possible, but it would be pretty strange for him to go to these lengths to hide his identity if he was simply going to go to his place of work or former place of work to do this.

Despite being well known, it's actually quite hard to pull. My classmate burned herself because she mishandled a test tube with acid, and the acid dropped straight in the middle of her fingerprint. It did grew back, but she was in pain the first hours, since that shit is a major burn. Now, doing that to all ten of your fingers? It's basically self mutilation and pain on another escale. To endure that just to do this, the guy has a serious problem with that newspaper.

New Yawk City!
If Charlie Hebdo was a terrorist attack, then I'll need to be convinced how this wasn't, unless the accused really was disgruntled for non-political reasons.
