Hope Oda changes the status quo and have Zoro take down a boss instead of Luffy. I havent followed the story since Dressrosa but why are they searching for Marco? Gonna jump in when Big Mom arc finishes in the anime.

Yeah that's not happening. Zorojuro vs whoever the Shogun is would be cool though.

Any time I see Zoro I wonder why Oda hates Sanji

He doesn't though? To say this after WCI is even more crazy. I feel like people want Sanji to basically be a 2nd Zoro on the crew, but that'd be boring.

One Piece has arguably the greatest team reunions in Shonen history. When they team back up? It's gonna be amazing.

I want the Wano version of this:

Are you talking Kaido? Because Luffy didn't even beat the last boss, just the top lieutenant, so I think that's the kind of win we can hope for with Zoro.

Yea, Kaido. But yea, at best he'll help Luffy take him down. But to do it on his own, or even deal the finishing blow, that won't happen.

I really don't think Kaido will get taken down his arc. I think what WILL happen is that Wano will be liberated from his rule and free from his tyranny. However I'm starting to think his former captain of the Locks pirates might be partially responsible for his exit from Wano

They said Ryuma's grave was robbed 23 years ago

Monsters came out in 1994, and is presumably 23(near 24) years old.

Oda is the best

Marco kinda looking washed, lmao.

Love how Zoro is already fucking everything up in the first Wano chapter

Any idea/guess how long it will take for the Anime to get to that point where Zoro is back?

I'd say maybe fall 2019. You can count out chapters and tie them into episode count, but the show takes some creative liberties with extending scenes, dialog, and adding a bunch of stuff to pad out episodes. They also take occasional breaks.

After all these years I still don't know what One Piece is about and it's too long for me to find out

Yeah but when's my man Crocodile coming back
A few chapters ago actually.

While the feat itself isn't impressive by One Piece - hell, by shonen in general - standards, what I really liked about it is the framing. Cherry blossoms, the music panels...Wano is going to be a love letter to classic samurai media flavored with that One Piece charm. I loved every panel of Wano and I'm going to love this arc,I just know it.
still miffed at the inconclusive Reverie arc though.

Looking at that spread, Zorro used that tiny ass knife to send a flying slash 30-ish feet behind him that had enough power to not only kill a dude but cut the entire building in half.

It's at this point that I'd like to note we also still haven't seen Zorro pushed anywhere near his limits since the time skip ended, every fight he's had has ended in like a single blow.

Marco kinda looking washed, lmao.

He's gonna wind up killing the shogun before Luffy even shows up at the rate he's going.

Zoro's not taking down one of the four emperors lol. Hell, I doubt Luffy is going to take down Kaidou one one one (I think he'll have help in that fight from Law and Kidd at the very least)

Can't tell if serious or not.
I am! I'm a pretty big manga fan too but besides some chapters I read over a decade ago in the US Shonen Jump which I don't remember much of at all One Piece is a total blindspot of mine. And now I would love to get into it but its length at this point is super intimidating. I almost wish it had delays to the level of HxH because that I caught up with over a year with it's only 34 volumes since 1998 lol

Lol, it has actually been two years? Good god. Dressrosa took just as long (I think) and yet it felt like it took so much longer.

The biggest failing of the big time skip is we haven't seen anybody but Luffy cut loose. Sanji got some good character development I don't think we seen what he really can do

It's basically about Luffy taking on the entire world.

It just so happens the entire world involves an influx of piracy, a corrupt government, many oppressed peoples, and a lost history that was "erased" in the past that ties into how the world got this way. Luffy is basically trying to conquer all of this and become the Pirate King, which according to him isn't about sovereignty but rather it's about "becoming the freest man in the world." However to become the freest man in the world, he has to take down the oppressors of the world that are in his and his friends' way.
