I wouldn't want to play with PC players with the rampant cheating that goes there. Played Dark Souls 3 on PC, never again will make that mistake. But it's a shame that Sony blocks it, I understand why, they'Re by far the market leader and want people to buy their hardware if they wanna play Fallout 76 on it. Hopefully in due time they'll rollback on their stances but I never want PC mixed in with console.

Are we going to make a thread each time a dev/pub says Sony doesn't allow cross-play?

Yes, when one of the most famous AAA game developers openly critizises the biggest console manufacturer on the market right now it's pretty threadworthy.

And the existence of this thread is not hurting anybody. We won't run out of internet anytime soon and you can just choose to not click on the thread.

No matter if you want crossplay or not. Throwing your business partner under the bus like that isnt cool.

A) They're not business partners, it's a platform. You can speak up against poor policies. An App Store developer (say, Valve) speaking up against Apple's policies is not "throwing a business partner under the bus".

B) How is "We would love to do that, but right now that's not possible" throwing anybody under the bus? It's just a literal statement of the situation (and the context would imply it was a direct answer to a question).

C) See A and B

also nobody made a fuss when the 360 was in the lead and had virtually no crossplay.

The only reason we know they obstructed it was because people made a fuss about it. Try harder.

But it is hurting somebody, it's hurting Sony. They're my friend.

I'm confused how is Sony stopping crossplay between X1 and PC?

Eh, in a game where state is persistently shared, it means having to dynamically silo off platforms. It's one thing when talking about games that are match or objective based. MMOs and MMO-likes are quite a different beast. Either all platforms need to be cross-platform or none when one of the biggest user bases is the blocker. Let's be honest if only X1 got cross-platform with PC, the vitriol would be aimed at Bethesda by hardcore Sony fans not Sony.

I also don't see why PS4/PC would not be possible. Sony has allowed for that since day one.

Lets hope they cancel fallout 76 on ps4. That should teach sony to be anti consumer when everyone else is so pro consumer.

Not like I was ever going to buy Bethesda games on PS4 anyway with their joke that is mod support.

Damn, people really care for crossplay that much huh? I can see them folding eventually, but being the market leader sure isn't going to help speed things up.

So, we will get PC&PS4 and PC&Xbox.

I don't see Sony changing their stance while they are in the lead. Allowing cross-console play is giving their competition a free gift. Vast majority of gamers will not care.

Sony holding back third parties... a little different story from what they said regarding first/third party success. For the payers.
It's funny that this issue continues to creep up when so many were assuring me it was going die off two days after E3.

Shots fired, by the largest publishers in gaming.

Your move Sony. Let's see who really has the power here.
.....it creeps up on Era....I frequently visit the major sites. The Kotakus, Polygons, and Siliconeras of the world and there are nary an article. Then you go to cnn money, BBC, MSN, and there isn't a crumb. This will creep up on Era as long as it's a thing , but do not fool yourself into thinking this will be another Lootgate.

I imagine because there would be a chance an Xbox player would be in the PC game.
It does not work that way for Rocket League, Fortnite and many other games, players cannot mix cross-console, but can freely create PC-Console sessions.

There isn't PS4/PC and X1/PC because of something Sony is doing? I don't understand?
We have one short [and translated] quote, and thread title is describing like there will be no crossplay whatsoever. I don't think that will be the case.

IMO, thread title should be tweaked.

Sony being Sony. Don't buy it on PS4 to send them a message.

You could do it on principle, but practically it will have no impact.

I really think it would've taken big games like Minecraft and Fortnite to exclude only PlayStation platforms from all crossplay due to their policies - 'All or nothing'. I don't see what else could have brought the issue to the mainstream place it needs to be make change worthwhile for Sony.

Hopefully we'll get more clarification soon.

As of now it seems there won't be any Cross Play at all. But like others already pointed out, PS4 and PC shouldn't be a Problem. Especially Xbox and PC shouldn't be a problem, since no matter what Problems Sony could have, why should it influence Cross Play between Xbox and PC.

So, hopefully there will be a better explanation for this before Release.

I think only really Rockstar could put pressure on by publicly calling them out. Or the CoD devs, both are pretty unlikely to though, due to marketing.

More big names putting on pressure is good though, it's very much a now or never situation, if it dies down Sony will continue to not care.

The devs should say "No game for you Sony" to send a message, that would be something.

And that's how the shareholders demand your resignation because you cost them millions in sales. AAA game publishers can't afford to not make their games multiplatform.

It's the only platform I can buy it on, though. I don't own an X1 or a gaming PC.

I mean, if your mad enough about it you could not buy it at all
