Remind me of some folks releasing a rabbit out in the wild and few seconds later a hawk dives in and eats it.

Yeah, I think this is probably one of the most morbid life lessons one can teach.

It's only percieved to be funny because it's an insect. But if you look at it as a life philosophy then it's anything but...

Feeling bad for the children that are experiencing, perhaps for the first time, how tough nature can be.

This is making the rounds again? Saw this a few months ago... or one near identical.

1. It's a butterfly, I doubt the kids will be mentally scarred by it.

2. The circle of life lesson is worth a lot more than the Caterpillar > Butterfly transformation.

We just did the same thing with our daughter - got some caterpillars and watched them grow into butterflies. Luckily we let them free at a butterfly sanctuary and away from our dog.

Still found this hilarious.

...why give away the punchline of the video in the thread title?

Bizarre.

Circle of life and all, but the thread would look a lot different were it a puppy and a lion.

This video would have been really funny if you didn't explain the joke in the title.

I know, but it seemed too perfect, like it knew what was in the box, and waited for the right time to strike lol
Probably saw people crowded around the table and thought they were eating something. That being said my sister's pug will lay on couch watching flies and snatch them out of the air.
