Let's be honest, he is the strongest character in all of gaming.

He killed Zeus ffs.

Yeah, Asura is pretty much one of the most bombastically strongest protagonist characters in gaming.

Kratos can beat up most gaming characters to a bloody pulp, and probably solo most gaming worlds, lol. But it's by design that Asura's Wrath was made to be the most ridiculous over-the-top divine action game ever. Asura is pretty much anime Kratos.

Yeah, if you want to beat Asura, you probably have to get into, like, reality-warping JRPG villains. I don't play enough to name names but I wouldn't be surprised if there's one who can just snap universes out of existence or something.

There is no way Dante could beat Kratos. Dante is a fucking maniac but Kratos' raw strength is leagues ahead of Dante.

I honestly forgot that moment lol.

It might be the case that we haven't seen the full extent of Dante's strength, but from what I can remember, I don't feel he's accomplished anything as impressive as killing Cronos in GOW III.
Yeah, remember dante was vastly stronger than nero and nero did shit like this

Wow Zeus! So impressive!

What has he done again?
Top tier. He could rip Dante and Bayonetta in two. Guy's a fucking monster.

Kratos is like the Hulk, i.e. exactly as strong as the current storyline requires for dramatic effect.

I mean Bayo already literally punched God into the sun at the end of Bayo 1.
No she didn't. That was Jubelius.
Yes he probably could. And he'd body both them fools at the same time.

He would fodder both of them

There is no way Dante could beat Kratos. Dante is a fucking maniac but Kratos' raw strength is leagues ahead of Dante.

He is also immortal, due to his ability to escape hell without issue!

You think that shit is anything close to the Giant Hammer Kratos STRUGGLED to lift in GoWPS4????
Lots of people overestimating Kratos here. Strength isn't everything. Dante is not only way faster and agile, but he also has fire arms. Kratos isn't a bullet timer. Enough bullets and Kratos is dead.

Oh, and about Kratos getting back from hell? He can't anymore, because not only is Hades dead, but he always needed help to get out of the Underworld.

Stronger than the Hulk.

Dante...... beat...Kratos!?
Bwhahaha

I wouldn't even want to watch that. Dante couldn't even beat one of Kratos bosses in which he has ripped in half. Dante wouldn't be able to beat Baldur..

Asura is probably the only gaming character who would stand a chance against Kratos, and even then they'd probably end in a draw. Kratos is very likely unbeatable, but that doesn't mean he could win the fight.

What is this nonsense?

Show me one instance of Balder in God of War surviving a sword thrown at mach speeds. Or him survivinf a barrage of missiles.

Wrong again. Seriously, there are literally thousands of gaming characters who can beat him.

well actuallyyy.. lol

As of the new GoW, Kratos is a bullet timer now. And I dont believe fire arms would even be effective on him since he is an actual god persay.

But you may have a point since Dante is an actual demonic spawn so he may be able to damage Kratos to some level. It wouldn't be with the firearms though, just his swords Id assume.

Lets leave that question for the thread, Can Kratos be harmed by Dantes firearms?

Dante's firearms aren't normal, he can charge them with demon energy. He also has Artemis, Pandora, and Nightmare Beta which are demon laser weapons.

Anyway Yamato is his real hax weapon, that thing can cut through spacetime and rip dimensions.

Comparing characters from different universes with different rules has always felt pointless to me, especially since there are a number of video game baddies who are literally untouchable save for a single type of technique or weapon unique to their world, so a fight between two of those would essentially be a stalemate where neither could really do any damage. Beating a god sounds impressive, but what that actually means can vary dramatically between different universes

How is the new Kratos a bullet timer? He got hit by arrows from Arteus multiple times.

Didn't Dante also kill the equivalent of Satan/Hades

They are probably fairly comparable

Isnt current kratos a paradox in that he cant die or something?

Funny ever since I played the first game I always compared him to Thor(Marvel) in terms of strength. Guess we'll find out next game.

Yes and he beat Lucifer(well it was someone called Lucifer we never saw him) off screen. But again that means absolutely nothing, gods from one universe are not comparable to gods from another universe.

I dont think you know how ridiculous Dante(and bayonetta) are

Nah, I'm pretty versed on how ridiculous they are... they can't fuck with Kratos man.

Watch the first 2min and that's what Dante would get from Kratos.
What is this nonsense?

...a sword? A sword fam? Lmao
Kratos gave Baldur a barrage of mountains, literally! It's not a contest.

But forget that, Dante wants no parts of Kratos. Bayonetta ain't even in the equation.
He get his hands on either one and they're done.

Yeah, he did get hit by arrows. It was his son tho and an emotional moment so I dont think he was trying to stunt on him.

Like Bran said, I think its called the Amulet of Krasnov or w/e. But its gameplay bullet time. Nothing story involved.

Yeah he is immortal.

Is that so? Well aside from gameplay failure which I guess doesnt count for reasons, we do see that Kratos has a fated death in prophecy.

I had no idea that he was immortal though... He seemed to fight for his life against Baldur, even Midri and Modi to an extent...

Are we sure on this?

Forget even fighting them individually. Kratos will defeat Dante and Bayonetta at the same time in a handicap match and not break a sweat.

Now Asura is a much better challenger.

Kratos is sort of moody with his power tbh.
That and hes been practicing not being angry for years. And anger is basically his fuel.
Nothing in the game suggests kratos is trying to give it his all.
Until he gets a legit good reason to be mad in the new series his feats will be tame compared to the og trilogy .
Its implied he holds back to not reveal his true self to his son.
Gow 3 kratos was spartan rage 24/7 and for the brief moments he uses it in this game hes borderline invicible even without a weapon. Baldur even remarks about it in annoyance during the final fight.

Positive. He is cursed to immortality. Although the latest game seems to foretell his death finally but then again that could be misleading.

If Kratos went against Bayonetta inside some sort of Mugen engine in which each character maintained the properties of their own games, even the best Kratos player would struggle to even land a hit against a novice Bayonetta. He just doesn't have the tools to deal with her.

In terms of the games themselves, Bayonetta would have just kicked down that door in GoW3 which Kratos needed the strength of a young naked girl to hold open for him.

Kratos dying again wouldn't really be new though.

He'd come back even stronger, thats canon.

Yeah GOW3 Kratos would have kicked Baldur's ass in a hurry.
