yeah lemme know when that pops and i'll have a word to say. but i also want the multiplayer thread bumped

Artisan this is going to seem so weird but I hate the character that is your avatar so much that you will post something and my gut reaction is to disagree. It's like in Kill Bill when Marsten is like - "I don't know why but everyone hates this hat" anyway it's just funny cause I almost always appreciate your posts but I'm predisposed not to.

Crooked Still put up the instrumental version of "Ecstasy" that is heard in the trailer:

THANK YOU.

Fuck me, I loved this song in the trailer.

Also, 100% there will be a time element to this game. When the first game shifted scenes with seasons, this game will jump back and forth between time.

I could totally see Anna killing someone in the past, and that dead body is there in the same place when Ellie reaches it.

lmao

i had to read your first sentence a second to get it, lol. the irony is I hate him too, and I hate the show now too. It's just that back during season 5 - since I started the show on season 4, I thought the guy's acting in that scene of him confessing was really good. and the episode ended right too with Abraham going Tekken on him.

Ha yeah I'm completely with you. I started off loving it as well and I liked his character in the beginning.

And Robin was the LAST person among my subscriptions whom I would suspect to hold such bigoted views. I'm so disappointed.

FYI two threads were made and immediately locked about this video earlier. Not worth digging into.

Why give this garbage more exposure/clicks by posting it in here? Your last thread was locked, even.

My apologies, it was never my intention to give this guy more clicks for his reprehensible views. I just wanted to find some place to discuss this.

Mods, can you please delete my original post which includes the video in question?

So, do we expect some sort of Jeep sections to make their way into this one or will they be replaced for horses?
I'd love a chapter like the one in The Lost Legacy where you can explore a huge area on a horse or vehicle.

And he's been like that for 20+ years at this point.

People always forget the "20 years later". Arguably, that's the most important point of The Last of Us's entire story.

It's the 10 seconds of the game where Joel lives decades of authority- and humanity-hating violence and crime in the wake of sheer trauma – and we don't get to see it. We don't get to see Joel solidify into a complete, violent nightmare bastard. So people are surprised at how much of an animal he is by the end.

Christ I'm looking forward to Part 2.

They'll simply contrive another breakable item to do this. Games are a creative medium and you can make anything work, you just need to find the idea.
for some reason youtube recommended me the scene where Joel meets his brother and they almost come to blows. it seems joel did some crazy shit during those early years and tommy still has ptsd and guilt from them.

Probably horses.

I have a theory that Tommy's settlement in Jackson is gunna act as an explorable hub in the early portions of the game, and the patrols you go on will be set up similarly to the open Lost Legacy chapter (you can do them in any order but the cutscenes will always be the same.) It makes sense to have it early, as the further you get into the story the less they'll want you to slow down and have control of the pace yourself.

I watched the video in question. It's funny how he goes on about not being bothered by it but assumes the quality of the game somehow will be compromised if ND continue on that path... So he is implying that introducing too much of a diverese cast of characters is negative? Be it sexual orientation or race, too much of it = bad, unnatural, not what he is used to... Sorry, I just can't comprehend how the hell he can't see past his own BS! If it truly didn't bother him, there'd be no need for a video. ND want to be inclusive, they want to show us precisely that - These things shouldn't matter. Their games won't suffer one bit for it. They'll be just as brilliant. There is a lot more I could say, but I'll leave it at that - Sorry for the rant!

The poster asked the mods to remove the video as they didn't want to give it more clicks.

Halfway through the video, seems like what started this video for him is the fandom shipping Chloe and Nadine together and he post some fanart, some from ND artist themselves and ND actually encouraging it.

The fucker put a ad for his pateron in the comments and below the video. He's using his homophobia to advertise, what a sick individual.

Eh, that video you're all getting outraged over is relatively mild.

Key point seems to be that he regards diversity/inclusiveness/etc and story quality as a zero sum game. Effort on one means neglect of the other, apparently.

It's pretty funny that, the way his video is laid out, it makes it seem that the tipping point for him was tweets of Chloe/Nadine fanart.

I decided to give the video a watch but couldn't finish it, and he unsurprisingly preemptively says he knows people would call him bigoted, sexist and racist but he is tired of being politically correct and afraid to voice his opinion. A real crusader for free speech and political correctness that one.

It boggles my mind how these people don't see how stupid this line of reasoning is. They think the potential of a game being really good goes down as diversity increases, it is "SHOCKING" how it mirrors the same sentiment i see everyday in real life where certain neighborhoods won't allow minorities to buy houses or move in because somehow the quality of their neighborhood will go down if they do. Mirrors trump rhetoric of Mexico sending drug dealers and rapist over the bother thereby making America worse.

I hope Sony and ND sees this video and decides not to give this dude any presskit as they have done in the past. Has anyone tweeted it to ND or Sony?

It's confirmed that Joel murdered defensless innocent people semi regularly during those lost years. He's just as bad as any marauder you encounter in the game. Things as extreme as rape couldn't be ruled out either, given the world and comments from his brother.

I mean the guy lost his daughter under horrific circumstances. it makes sense that he would turn into a ruthless murderer. we all assumed that he would be this sad dad stereotype but Neil is a better writer than that. its crazy how 5 years later, we are still discussing a character's motivations and well character. fantastic writing.

Ellie Joel conversation around the midpoint when they come across well meaning people who were clearly ambushed and slaughtered in cold blood.

Ellie calls attention to the sight.
Joel offers some insight on the situation and Ellie asks him how he knows and asks/accuses him of being on the side that did stuff like that
Joel doesn't deny it by refusing to reply
Ellie puts two and two together

I'll try to find the clip, but you can also see it in how collected and comfortable he is when torturing the people in winter

Keeping in mind

When they're taking the truck from Bill's Town and don't fall for the ruse with the fake wounded guy, Joel says he could tell it was a setup because pulled a bunch of stunts like those in the past. Joel very clearly preyed on people during those two decades.
but how do we know those people chasing him were innocent? They could've been trying to rob him
