Justifying one's poor actions based on the actions of racists seems illogical to me.
What's wrong with pointing out how fucking embarrassing it is? This has nothing to do with the fit of the dress on her specific body, or how attractive she is. It's just an egregiously hideous piece that looks like a tasteless highschooler's prom dress, and it's (again) horrifically embarrassing in this context.
I'm not criticizing this comment, I just love that the logic is "don't worry about the dress because she's always ugly."
Politics have been a street fight for so long but for some reason the left thinks the 'moral high ground' still matters.
At some point you have to stop wanting to play a better, more enlighted person at the expense of everything else. Be a jerk, have an edge, make fun, go low. Or, we can keep going high while Trump re-shapes the Supreme Court, and after 8 years of him, Trump Jr can do it even more -- because we just wanted to be the better person.
The older school democrats, they knew how to fight back and also have the moral compass in the right direction, but they've just been slowly culled by this faux moral correctness. It doesn't win big enough to do actual good.
