Every time I feel miserable in the morning, I play this song and lie in bed for an extra 2 hours.
Steven Wilson might veer over the edge from melancholy to depressing, but I certainly listen to him in a melancholic mood. Also these videos are gorgeous stop motion works of art.
This album and Bright Eyes I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning are my go to sad albums
Smashing Pumpkins - 1979, takes me right back to high school and cruising around in my friends old beat up truck.
When I was a kid it was a family tradition that we'd go to the movies on Sunday and afterwards go to a local "throwback" 1950's/60's style diner. They had a Jukebox in there and my dad would always give me a quarter to play a song on it. I ALWAYS played this song, every single time cause I just loved it, but it annoyed the hell out of my dad lol.

I think I stumbled on Gravenhurst on era or gaf. It's the perfect soundtrack for walking through the city on a rainy night.
This one always made me feel emotions of one kind or another.
