The cancellation of dental and vision coverage for almost 500,000 enrollees in the state's Medicaid expansion is an "an unfortunate consequence of the judge's ruling," Doug Hogan, a spokesman for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, told the Louisville Courier-Journal.

What a pathetic attempt to pass the blame. Fucking assholes.

Obamacare was super popular in KY and they elect this fool. Probably because nobody knew what Obamavare was, just that it had that black guys name in it.

I saw something on Vice I think where they asked people in Kentucky about their healthcare and they still said they would vote Republican because "they won't take it away now that we've got it" welp...so much for that theory.

The red states where the teachers walked out were showing big signs of a Trump whiplash and stuff like this is only going to escalate it. Back when the ACA rolled out there were a bunch of stories of people visiting the dentist for the first time.

Even though it's Kentucky something like this is insanity for the GOP when Health Care is the #1 issue for voters nationwide.
It's Medicaid, not Medicare.

And he's a fucking slimy shit sucking fucking garbage person.
KY's previous governor got the Medicaid expansion done in 2014. Then got voted out of office for it.

That's how effective propaganda is. Gets people to vote against their own self interest.

Makes sense.

The economy is stable (relatively). And you can always have the mentality that you can always find a new job, but you can't always fix your body in time if you don't get the care you need.

I still wonder why people support state rights in these cases. Stuff like this should get regulated at higher levels and be hard to remove. =/

I want to say I feel sorry for those that lost their coverage, but they sort of made their own bed with this one...

Maybe just those that didn't vote this idiot into office, because they all shouldn't be screwed like this. ~_~

He's only doing this because he knows it's going to likely go to SCOTUS and get upheld 5-4 if Trump's pick comes in the fall, plus could be a precedent that could kill Medicaid Dental/Vision for much of the country.

Basically, he's blackmailing people with his right to work bullshit by holding dental and vision care in the balance. That is just evil.

Casually hurting 500k people like it's no big deal, then telling the big lie it is someone else's fault. Sadly, it will probably still fool some people. Doubt it holds up in court, throw the book at him.

Couldn't it be that he's just a vindictive jagoff? This is the same guy who guaranteed that kids would be sexually abused and/or poisoned as a result of the KY teacher strike.

I just read that 2 out of 5 children and 2 out of 3 nursing home residents in KY. Is that true? That's pretty fucking evil, and I wouldn't blame the citizens if they dragged Bevin into the streets.

The old GOP standard of not wanting abortions, but fucking over the kids once they are born.

Elections have consequences. I feel bad for the people that didn't vote for him. No sympathy for those that did

Welp, it's unfortunate that this has happened. But I hope Kentucky residents realize the error of voting against their owns interests. Most probably fed into that "Evil Obamacare" BS while signing up for Medicaid not knowing it's expansion was apart of the ACA. Elections have consequences. Educate yourself on the issues and don't vote based on emotions and propaganda.

Yeah no. These people have been brainwashed their entire lives to hate anyone labeled as a Democrat and especially hate any policy not put forth by a Republican. The hate has been bred into them.

Damn, I just used my Kentucky Medicaid to get my vision test and new glasses in May. I wouldn't of been able to do that without Medicaid. I feel sorry for my fellow Kentuckians that also use this.

Fuck Matt Bevin to oblivion. I hate this piece of shit will all my soul.

Edit: also, this is the dude who said children where being molested, beaten, and neglected everyday that teachers came to his doorstep and protested him taking away their pension, so that should tell you how much of an evil person the dude is. Nobody I know likes him, so I'm hoping he gets kicked the fuck out in re-election.

KY's previous governor got the Medicaid expansion done in 2014. Then got voted out of office for it.

Actually, steve beshear ran his full term as governor, so he couldn't run anymore. That's why we have the devil as governor now.
