The Remake of Resident Evil 2 had won the critics award for the "Best of Show " Category

http://www.gamecriticsawards.com/winners.html

This is the First time in History that a Capcom game had won this award , Congratulations to Capcom and its Fans and the Team behind Resident Evil Remake 2

Resident-Evil-2-remake-1.jpg

Also According to Capcom PR , This is the only non-First party Japanese game to win this award in 20 years

The Official Resident Evil Twitter Account had responded to that event

As I see some confusion , Here is a note regarding which games were eligible for the award and how games are nominated

Note on Game Eligibility
To be eligible for nomination, games must be "hands-on playable" to voting publications for at least 5 minutes of gameplay during E3 2018
.

Due to this rule, the following games were disqualified: Battletoads (Xbox); Beyond Good and Evil 2 (Ubisoft); Control (505 Games); Crackdown 3 (Microsoft); Cyberpunk 2077 (CD Projekt Red); Daemon x Machina (Nintendo); Death Stranding (PlayStation); Devil May Cry 5 (Capcom); DOOM Eternal (Bethesda); Dying Light 2 (Techland); Fallout 76 (Bethesda); Fire Emblem: Three Houses (Nintendo); Gears 5 (Xbox); Gears POP! (Xbox); Gears Tactics (Xbox); Ghost of Tsushima (PlayStation); Halo Infinite (Xbox); Just Cause 4 (Square Enix); Madden NFL 19 (EA); NBA Live 19 (EA); Nioh 2 (PlayStation); Super Mario Party (Nintendo); Stormland (Insomniac Games); The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit (Square Enix); The Last of Us Part II (PlayStation); Wolfenstein: Youngblood (Bethesda).

Everytime I see REMake 2 I am often reminded that sometimes, video games and the industry as a whole can sometimes be very, very good

Well deserved. I was absorbed with this game for several weeks. I'm really liking ALL of the changes they've made, and I was one of those who actually wanted fixed cameras.

Keep doing good Capcom.

Well deserved :-)

I hope the overwhelming amazing reactions Remake 2 received encourage Capcom to develop all the upcoming main RE games exactly like this.

it was my game of the show too.

I haven't been this hyped for a game in a long long time.

Literally the only new game coming out of E3 that I'm looking forward to. Well deserved, I can't wait for January.

Good. It's my most anticipated game since RE4. This game is going to be amazing and hopefully, it's the new template going forward with the series.

I'm gonna sound like a noob, but why is this such a big deal when REMake just kinda came and went? I've never really been into the RE series, but I watched this and it looked really cool, but not like OMG, MUST PLAY RE. Is this a much bigger deal than REMake 1?

REmake is one of the most universally loved games in the series. It's a very celebrated game and people have been begging for REmake 2 for years. There is no remake more celebrated than REmake. If REmake just kinda came and went, I blame that on the timing of the original release and the fact it was only on Gamecube.

Also, REmake 2 is more than just a remake. It's very different to the original and just looks stunning in general.

REmake was a pretty big deal, well, would have been bigger if it wasn't exclusive to Nintendo for over a decade :p

And REmake has been critically acclaimed for like 16 years, with the Remaster giving it a surge of popularity and quickly overshadowing the original release sales-wise

REmake, regularly regarded as the greatest video game remake of all time, just kinda came and went?

REmake is one of the greatest games ever made and a remake in a similar fashion to RE2, which many consider superior to the original RE, was always on the minds of fans since 2002.

We are now getting that remake, you'd have to be living under a rock to not consider this a big deal. Then there's the fact that it looked fucking GREAT at E3. Game Critics clearly agree.

I don't think you could legitimately argue that Remake came and went, it was very well considered upon time of original release and has continued to be well appreciated.

Wow. RE2R was my personal game of the show and now my most anticipated game, but I didn't expect that feeling to echoed in the critics awards. Very nice, and kind of surprising!

Im wondering if I should play Re:2 before Remake drops or wait until January and enjoy everything for the first time

I thought Anthem would win, so nice surprise.

ERA says Sony had its worse E3...and they won the most awards. Sounds about right.

Very glad to see Spider-Man win and beat out tough competition like Sekiro, Smash bros, Ass Creed, Tomb Raider etc. Game has been nitpicked to death here, but the press seems to love it.

Hard to believe these are Insomniacs' first wins with the game critics, congrats!

Capcom Dev 1's looking to be on quite a roll lately. Hopefully both RE2's Remake & DMC5 are home-runs at their respective launches.

See, more noobness from me. I was referring to the PS4/XB1 REMake as I thought that was at least different than the GC one. I've heard the GC one is amazing, but don't really know anybody that played it, probably because of the GC marketshare.

But this is different than that, I see that now.
