Each was amazing at the time for me. Some with all time classics too.

SNES: Super Mario World, F-Zero, Pilotwings, Gradius III, SimCity

DC: Soulcalibur, Sonic Adventure, Power Stone, HOTD2, TXR, Hydro Thunder, R2R Boxing, Blue Stinger

GBA: Castlevania COTM, F-Zero MV, Chu Chu Rocket, Konami Krazy Racers, Fire Pro, Super Dodge Ball, Mario Advance, Rayman Advance

PSP: Lumines, Ridge Racers, MG AC!D, DarkStalkers Chronicle, Wipeout Pure, Dynasty Warriors, Ape Escape

Wii: Zelda TP, Excite Truck, Trauma Center 2O, Monkey Ball BB, Wii Sports, tons of Virtual Console

Switch: Zelda BOTW, Snipperclips, Shovel Knight, FAST RMX, Bomberman R, VOEZ, Blaster Master Zero, ACA NeoGeo games

lol

This is the thread I didn't know I needed today, thank you. Excellent forum reading comprehension test, too.

Switch probably has the best lunch lineup, but I'll throw an honorable mention to the SNES for Super Mario World introducing Yoshi to the world, a character whose most renowned play mechanic is treating his enemies as lunch.

It's an acquired taste, requiring a sophisticated palette, but for those in the know, the flavourful switch cartridges are a delicacy.

All the "Misread (purposefully misspelled) title > don't read OP > don't read any posts below > post reply...." posts make me really sad.

Lovely thread Radishhead

N64 for Mario 64 alone. The prime example of quality over quantity. Game was so good and revolutionary they could get away by just launching that game and not release anything else for months and I believe that's what they actually did lol.

The Atari 2600 had the only game that was good post-lunch.

LATE EDIT: The Atari 2600 had the game with the best post-lunch support.

Dammit I wish I thought of that phrasing first.

The Dreamcast still had the best launch lineup IMO. A good selection of games over a wide range of genres.

On the other hand, there are plenty of post-post-meal games out there. N64 as above, Ken & Kato on the PC Engine, and the health urinals in Duke Nukem in particular come to mind. Loads of others.

I suddenly just remembered that you do dental work on an underwater creature in Mario Sunshine as well!

This thread confuses me so much. Are most of these posters not seeing the thread title, or just assuming it's spelled wrong?

N64 and Switch had the best single launch titles ever, so I'll say those.

Edit: Uh, there's cooking in BotW... And Peach made Mario a cake in SM64!

The launch ps3 was basically a glorified george foreman grill so id say that. That way you could cook pretty much anything u wanted for lunch.

You haven't heard my ps4 pro on a hot day.
I bet I can air-fry fish and chips in it. Best lunch ever :)

Edit: on topic though, if the pro counts as a launch of console I'd say that but if not I'm actually not sure.

Wii and DS had cooking mama so I'm gonna go with those.

I'm on a diet I can't think about console lunch right now.

Still waiting for Cook, Serve, Delicious 2 to get a PS4 date. Need something to sink my teeth into.

I don't know about lunch lineup, but I know who wins breakfast:

edit: Mario's macaroni game is also on point, with entries from both SMB1/2 and SMW

I know when most people talk about the Switch's strong lunch lineup, they only think of Breath of the Wild's cooking mechanics, but don't forget that the system also has an incredible indie lunch lineup, with games like Battle Chef Brigade and Super Meat Boy. Don't Starve, indeed.

Have to admit I expected more from Butcher though.

This thread has been delicious, thanks all.

LOL! Superb thread! Thanks to everyone who participated.

The Commodore 64 was host to a number of Dizzy games, who was a playable egg, which can be enjoyed not just for lunch, but breakfast and dinner too.

Plus, he had two spin-off games, Fast Food and Kwik Snax where he had to run around and collect lunch-appropriate items of food.

I never owned an original Xbox, but the fact that it dispenses hamburgers makes it the obvious choice. I mean how many hamburgers did the PS2 have? lol

I know everyone will disagree... but the Wii U had a vast launch lineup filled with games for every type of gamer ... especially for someone who never played any of the ports that it launched with... I think it was a Great launch lineup considering.

Edit... you got me...

And I am the fool...
