I don't want this to be a port beg thread,
I personally am not sure I would play RE4 again on the Switch so this is purely from a Capcom business perspective.

So, I know people are gonna say this is "Capcom being Capcom", but honestly is it not the most obvious idea in the world to port the Resident Evil 4 Remaster first to the Switch especially instead of revelations? Resident Evil 4 is an incredibly nostalgic game for Nintendo fans and one I garuntee would sell an awful lot.
The portability factor alone would elevate it and the system would be more than capable of running it ( Seeing as even the Remaster on other consoles wasn't the highest of quality)

You could make this argument for a lot of games but with the weird stream of 7 and the release of Revelations 1 + 2, it boggles me they didn't do 4 first.

Were they just trying to get used to the hardware first and experiment with lesser know games?
Are they starting with the lesser known.Resi games and building up to 4?
Or is it just Capcom being Capcom?

For the supposedly 'most-ported' game we can't get a decent portable version of RE4 to save our lives. It should've gone to Vita as well. I just wish they could use the HD Project textures.

They are in no hurry to port it, it's an old game so whether it comes 2018 or 2020 makes little difference. The bigger the platform the better it will likely sell.

Capcom has been doing a horrible job with supporting the Switch, there is no denying that. I still think other RE games are coming to Switch, but it's likely to come pretty late and/or digital only or some other catch. Since Nintendo stopped doing Capcom's job, Capcpom is being Capcpom.

RE4 is inevitable on switch. It's just a matter of when.

Hell, RE4 will release on every fucking system for the next 30+ years, and rightly so lol.

RE4 is available in my toaster so I can't imagine there being a lot of demand for it on Switch, maybe as part of a collection.

Yeah RE4 should release soon. Switch is in need of some good Survival Horror games. Id pay good money for RE4 and 5 as well as EW and EW2 on the Switch. I'm still holding onto a sliver of hope that RE4 will be announced for later this year. It would sell very well on Switch.

There are thousands of good games not on Switch. I don't see the point of this at all. I could write the exact same OP but for games like Okami, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 1-3 etc...

Not every game ever comes to a new console right away.

The demand is that it's a classic game with high replay value that still doesn't have a good portable version. And given that it originally came out on the Gamecube and it has since been ported to a gazillion different platforms, it can't be THAT hard to port it to the Switch as well.

There are thousands of good games not on Switch. I don't see the point of this at all. I could write the exact same OP but for games like Okami, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 1-3 etc...

The difference is that Capcom has already ported other games to the Switch including 2 games in the Resident Evil series (3 if you count the RE7 streaming edition) but hasn't ported the no-brainer choice.

Okami is already coming to the Switch though?

Sorry but we need one of the best games ever finally on the go.

This would be the first true portable RE4 experience.

Second switch port thread that I've seen today.

Why is this becoming a trend?

I haven't seen the other one but I'm not really asking for Resident Evil 4 as I Probably wouldn't buy it for a third time but I'm willing that a lot of people would.

It's more about the decision making process of Capcom here. I'm pretty sure it'll happen but I'm curious of why it didn't happen a lot sooner. Even releasing it in this slower year (It couldn't take THAT long to port could it?) Would have killed it in sales. I mean look at the recent Crash game selling likl gangbusters.

If they released 4 remaster at a budget price it would make a killing.

I'd buy it again the minute it gets released.

I also don't get all the hate Capcom is getting for their Switch support. EA and Activision have been way worse. EA in particular, they seriously don't care at all.

Sure Capcom dropped the ball initially, but it seems like they are in the process of improving.

If they can't hit 60fps on Switch then they might not want to port it due to the negative backlash.

Or they want to focus on horror RE right now and stay away from action RE. Plus if they port 4 then the demand for REmake, 0, 5 and 6 will go up.

RE4 sold a truckload on Wii and would do the same on Switch because of its GC roots.

A lot of what people don't understand about third party sales is that publishers need to develop a following for a franchise to entice buyers. For instance, Revelations was a 3DS game, therefore it sold as much on Switch as PS4/XB1 combined.

This is why by not releasing certain franchises on Nintendo platforms regularly, third parties are actually fucking over future games in that franchise that could potentially come to the platform because the preexisting fanbase is not there. It's a self fulfilling prophecy.

It's my most wanted game for the system. Either it or Mario 3D World.

Can't really explain why it's taking so long though.

I would argue this way of thinking would've benefitted something like Revelations 1 and 2 more than RE4. I would even say putting out the other ReMakes would've been able to build that base for R1&2 to sell better than it currently is.

What about Resident Evil Remake and Resident Evil 0? I'm really frustrated that both of those games aren't on Switch already.

Maybe they are waiting for the hd project to be complete. (I wish)

It's baffling they haven't put Remake + RE0 though. Also great games.

I'm sure sooner or later they will, but Capcom does not have infinite resources and right now it's with Okami

Prioritizing ports of remasters is probably not their best move. Also, since they have a bunch of new projects going across the board, those are going to get priority over throwing together a port.

Ofhers have said, but i feel it will come when capcom need a game to fill up some sales for a particular quarter

Need 1/2 mil plus sales ? Port all RE games to switch, that'll do it
