Doubt this had anything to do with internet reaction. This happens all the time with shows just apparently not this far in to production.

Just from the bits people posted here and in the other thread, I'd believe it's real. I've only seen a season or two of Riverdale but it lines up enough with the dialogue there. The issue is that 1. this seems to go even further than that, and 2. they're adults in this.

Yeah that's a big thing here. I have very vaguely seen enough about Archie that "Edgy Archie" is funny, but it's certainly not something I have any attachment to. This, I have childhood nostalgia for, so it works far less.

This is weirdly magnetic, like watching a train wreck. Morbid curiosity and all that. That being said, let's hope it massively reworks itself into something more respectful/appropriate. It's funny how the ADHD "HBO's PPG" parody was so spot on.
