‘Tron’ Limited Series Scrapped By Disney

A Tron limited series has been sadly been scrapped by Disney, which was in development for the studios streaming service, Disney+.

"A Tron series has been scrapped by Disney, which was in development for the studios streaming service, Disney+.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, In a piece breaking down the direction of Disney+, Tron was one of the many projects in development to get scrapped along with a Disney Villains series, Book of Enchantmant and Josh Gad's Muppet movie, Muppets Muppets Live Another Day.

The series was in development with 12 Years A Slave writer John Ridley in partnership with ABC where he currently has an overall deal. The series in the works for several months before getting the ax.

Here is what I'm being told from an undisclosed source, Ridley was also expected to be the showrunner for the series, also the project was far to expensive, and sources say that a Tron film for the big screen is still in the works – unrelated to the Jared Leto project reported a couple years back."

"While the original 1982 version of the film, starring Jeff Bridges, was met with a cult following, it's 2010 sequel was met with mixed reviews. Despite bringing back Bridges, Tron: Legacy faltered, with many stating the film and its characters lacked emotion and substance. However the film was financially profitable for Disney, and it too has gained its own following, fans have been clamoring for another film and don't worry… you'll get one."

We're getting another Tron film! Finally!

Why the fuck is Disney scrapping everything?
Netflix's success is in part because they send shit out and see what sticks. Not everything needs to be perfect.
