Probably the most underappreciated Capcom published title from the 360 & PS3 Library. Developed by Cyberconnect2, it came out Feb 21, 2012 and fell through the cracks as bigger titles released throughout the year (Some being Capcom's own titles releasing around the same time). The game is an interactive anime, where a lot of the gameplay is played out through either full-on boss fights, levels, or QTE cutscenes (I know the disdain for QTE's but they're not bad here).
The real star of it all is the story and characters however. If you're a fan of over the top anime (Or just over the top things in general), Asura's Wrath delivers in spades and will continually defy expectations of what you think will happen next. I'd equate it similarly to Jojo and it's absolutely crazy antics, so if you're a fan of that you'll likely be a fan of this too. Despite the titles small community, there's a reason why you'll see the name Asura pop up whenever a Vs. game is announced, since much like God Hand it's a unique that shouldn't be missed for any fans of the action genre.
The only caveat to the sale price is that you need an additional DLC to get the true ending. So the price for the entire story is actually $12 Dollars, but it's well worth the price (Especially when Physical Copies sans DLC run for that much if not more).
Since DLC is always brought up
- Episode Pack: Part IV is the only one that is NEEDED (As it's effectively the true ending to the game).
- You can skip Episode 11.5 and 15.5, they're just animated cut-scenes you can now watch on youtube.
- Lost Episode 1 and 2 are the Ryu & Akuma Bonus fights. They're neat, but don't offer much.
