Is this Jeopardy?
"How was America founded?"
Is this Jeopardy?
There are black people still alive that had to be escorted by the military so they could attend school free from violent retaliation.Ok I'm sorry I wasted my time, if you think violence is a viable option you are an extremist, simple as that.
Fighting for whats right is just as bad as fighting for whats wrong because the word fight is in it.
With all the “DemocratsNowDeplorables” on Twitter, you’d believe it. Corny ass bot ass motherfuckers.Jesus Christ, you're so extreme.
I'm going to vote for racists to teach you a lesson.
That's it! where's my can of raspberry Spindrift!?Jesus Christ, you're so extreme.
I'm going to vote for racists to teach you a lesson.
*free speech can include racism that will never affect me because of privilege I will never understandJesus Christ, you're so extreme.
I'm going to vote for free speech* to teach you a lesson.
I don't like to dogpile but coming out of a family where both grandparents fought the Nazis to just survive and fight off evil so your bitch ass could post this shit on the internet: fuck you. Also, you're welcome. But still, fuck you. And all you high horse moderate motherfuckers.Ah yes quite convenient:
"The witness, who has asked to remain anonymous"
Anyway I'm reading things saying it was provoked a lot saying it wasn't.
The only thing we know for sure was that an ADULT male threw soda on a teenager.
Point is, violence won't change anything it will only make things worse. You want to really change anything for the better? Dialogue is your only option. Change is made in the voting boot. If you don't like democracy then only one thing remains revolution AKA bloodshed.
My mother remembers whites only washatrias as a kid and thinking they meant you couldn't wash anything but white clothes in there. She also remember being pulled out of school by her hair and paddled because she didn't speak english and being told she couldn't return until she learned. And when she did return, she was put into a segregated school. There are black people still alive that had to be escorted by the military so they could attend school free from violent retaliation.
You think they are extremist for asking for equality? When racism is emboldened, particularly by this President. Do you expect people will just stand there and take it?
My grandmother told us that her mother was beaten so hard by the BIA's boarding school that the nuns knocked her out on the road for not learning English fast enough. Her great aunt was paralyzed on half of her body due to running away off of a cliff during the American Indian Wars which lasted from the fucking 1600's to the early 1900's. That was less than 100 years ago.My mother remembers whites only washatrias as a kid and thinking they meant you couldn't wash anything but white clothes in there. My brother and sister and I didn't learn spanish as our first language, because when my mom started having kids in the 70's, she was still worried that speaking spanish would cause my oldest brother to have violence inflicted upon them. All my extended family speaks spanish and english except my family. I've learned spanish on my own, but my brother and sister still can't speak any of it. And despite trying, it's still not second nature for me to speak spanish. There are things about my very person that are still shaped by institutional racism.
This isn't ancient history. This is shit my parents went through.
Worth saying - on my father's side, I can trace my roots back to Native Americans in Texas. My family has lived in Texas, since before any of the 6 flags flew over Texas. My grandmother has always told me, if people ask when we jumped the border, to correct them that the border jumped us.
We have them ITT.Bunch of maga fools in the twitter thread saying fake news on the anonymous witness. Should have figured.
Whats crazy is, living in Texas my whole life, I really have never had to fear about racism unless I stepped out of the state. The very first time I experienced racism hurled my way, with serious intent, was in Mississippi when I was in highschool. My grandmother told us that her mother was beaten so hard by the BIA's boarding school that the nuns knocked her out on the road for not learning English fast enough. So when I see someone say "how could 30% of the country be racist!?", Fuck You. Violent history has been recent as hell. Pretend all you want, but confronting it is the only real path forward.
Yup, my dad always told us we should speak English in public. He lived through the 80s as a young immigrant, and he mentioned he would always get nasty looks for speaking Spanish in public. My mother remembers whites only washatrias as a kid and thinking they meant you couldn't wash anything but white clothes in there. I'm "lucky" in that I have only been called a slur once and have only had casual racism thrown my way in little bits and pieces which didn't matter so much. But I live in Minnesota, which is honestly a pretty damn good state.Whats crazy is, living in Texas my whole life, I really have never had to fear about racism unless I stepped out of the state. The very first time I experienced racism hurled my way, with serious intent, was in Mississippi when I was in highschool.
But as an adult, after living in this state for over 30 years, suddenly I am very conscious of my race these days. I feel like we've gone very far backwards. In the last year, I've been called "Mexican" as a pejorative to my face. Like, in a very spiteful way. Worth also noting, I've never once set foot in Mexico in my life.
Yeah... fuck. I only know a single phrase of Comanche and I don't have a way to verify if it's real. Unless I move to Oklahoma or Alabama there's no real way to learn the culture.EDIT: Going back to loss of spanish as a language in my immediate family -- do you know how honestly sad that is? It legitimately upsets me that I could have been naturally bilingual, an honestly useful skill, but I wasn't, because society made my mom fear teaching us that stuff. Consider my grandpa, passed away now, but he got Alzheimer's and lost his ability to speak english very early on. My Grandpa was still there for years, but my brother and sister literally could not talk to him anymore, because they didn't speak the same language.
It's cultural theft man. It's really sad shit.
My mother is a confrontational woman. I imagine much of my personality actually comes from her, she is someone who will get into someone's face and doesn't take shit. She is also very light skinned -- she could pass for white, while it's very obvious my dad (and my brother and sister and I) could not. She loves busting spanish out in public hoping someone gives her shit about it, haha. She also likes to not let people who speak spanish know, so that they'll speak spanish in front of her thinking she won't understand, only to follow along the conversation like that Seinfeld episode with George's dad and korean nail shop, haha.Yup, my dad always told us we should speak English in public. He lived through the 80s as a young immigrant, and he mentioned he would always get nasty looks for speaking Spanish in public.
I grew up speaking both languages, he never took that away from us, but I understood early what he meant.
Well, this is the far right playbook and it always has been. Instigate, let others take the first shot, act innocent and outraged about your rights being violated. If any witnesses say differently, send in the attack squad by social media and discredit them or make their life a misery. Hence the witness wishing to remain anonymous in this case (which makes them all the easier to take shots at with no right of reply, of course...) If you have enough of the media on your side, it just makes it easier. These white kids should be getting all the flak if what the witness said was half true. But somehow they are victims, fuck their defenders as they are racist as they are.
Bravo Kino wish we can pay his fine.
Word, I appreciate that. If there is one silver lining towards America's regression, it's that lately I've felt a lot more comradery with minorities in general. It's pretty obvious it's a shared struggle at this point. Shortly after Hurricane Harvey, the city my parents live in were honestly doing them dirty and not listening. I remember venting on twitter, and #BLM picked up the cause even though we weren't black. Put pressure on the city (it's a small city outside of Houston) and really made them take notice and listen. After thousands of people started melting the city's twitter and facebook pages, the reaction to calls for meetings was like night and day. It was a super uplifting moment.I'm "lucky" in that I have only been called a slur once and have only had casual racism thrown my way in little bits and pieces which didn't matter so much. But I live in Minnesota, which is honestly a pretty damn good state.
Stay cool Krej, and if you ever need the password into Minnesota I'll let you know it. :P
Exactly. We acted hostile toward shitposting in the thread and those people left. Now the thread is much nicer. There's a lesson to be learned here.
Carnival of stupid and this post is the main attraction.man switching between this and the gaf thread on the same topic is an absolute mindfuck of extremist, opposing views
seems to me the teenagers are racist shitheads who deserved a drink in their face but the adult is also a dumb motherfucker for letting himself get riled up and caught on tape by three racist teenage shitheads
its a carnival of stupid up in that whattaburger
man i need to visit the US again and get me a whattaburger
nice shitpost, try actually saying something next time
Please show both opposing "extremest" views.
they are fucking dumbass racist teenagersPlease show both opposing "extremest" views.
And good looking out calling the people who were not throwing around racist threats "dumb motherfuckers".
Both sides champion.
Yes it is. You don’t decide what is violence and what is not. Your post is disgusting.
When did these guys put a gun on the guy who threw the soda?Lol, no it doesn't. A growing subset of Trump supporters are a different breed of republicans, the ones that are willing to put out the gun on a minority because they feel entitled. I can't blame minority or white people for being fed up and seeking justice.
Show me the genocide that is happening in the US right now.
ISIS beheads people in public squares, throws gays from the roof tops, enslave women, destroy all kind of technological advances, indoctrinate people into their religion or they kill them. Trump idiots don’t do any of that. So give me a fucking break. You have no idea what you are talking about and that is why your comparison is dumb, and pretty much insulting to all the people who lived, suffered and died under ISIS terror.Still waiting for a response dude. They're both misogynistic, homophobic, theocratic, murderous groups that are looking to kill off "undesirables" and create a totalitarian ethnostate. Just because their religions have different names does not mean they aren't made out of the exact same mold.
A guy waving an ISIS flag VS a guy waving a Nazi flag.
Same scum, different name.
What else would you call it.
If I said I wanted to kill you and all of your people, that is a political view to you? Are you being serious or just being hyperbolic on a forum?Absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe people here advocate and encourage violence against others because of their political views. It shows how much screwed up you are.
A witless said they were openly talking about how they wish the purge was real and how they want to commit genocide against non-whites.Show me the genocide that is happening in the US right now.
What else would you call it.
That’s the crux of these discussions. In a society where wishing harm on people because of their race, gender, religion or sexuality isn’t acceptable and the State enforces it, it’s a lot easier to make an argument against any kind of physical or verbal violence. If I said I wanted to kill you and all of your people, that is a political view to you? This post is a bunch of horseshit.Yes it is. You don’t decide what is violence and what is not. Your post is disgusting.

The ironic thing about your point is that the state we're in this climate because POC and LGBT have been subject to this blind eye for years, and now people are fed up with this treatment and will no longer tolerate it. So yeah, you get the social norm you erect by fucking over people for centuries. That’s the crux of these discussions. In a society where wishing harm on people because of their race, gender, religion or sexuality isn’t acceptable and the State enforces it, it’s a lot easier to make an argument against any kind of physical or verbal violence.
But if a society is willing to turn a blind eye on these aggressions, if not support them, don’t be surprised people feel threatened enough to fight back, it’s not like there’s much else they can do to preserve their ongoing existence.
To put it more simply, you get the social norms you erect.
Rob people of their land:
Fuck over people's healthcare:
Imprisoning children:
Murdering children in the street:
And all of this still being the norm in this day and age.
You don't understand, Absent. The ironic thing about your point is that the state we're in this climate because POC and LGBT have been subject to this blind eye for years, and now people are fed up with this treatment and will no longer tolerate it. So yeah, you get the social norm you erect by fucking over people for centuries.
But let's criminals shoot up a churches:
Rob people of their land:
Fuck over people's healthcare:
Imprisoning children:
Murdering children in the street:
And all of this still being the norm in this day and age.
Asking for civility when civility was never, ever, given or shown in the first place. Please.
In case I came across as ambivalent or anything, I absolutely agree. That was my point. Asking for civility in that broader context is just putting lipstick on a pig.The ironic thing about your point is that the state we're in this climate because POC and LGBT have been subject to this blind eye for years, and now people are fed up with this treatment and will no longer tolerate it. Hate, bigotry, racism, calls for violence against minorities, exploitation of the underprivileged, fear mongering, treason... we could sit here for hours trying to break it down into atoms what that hat, that slogan, the organge shitbag who hides behind it and his asshole followers stand for.
For many white people, these literally are just political views. They don’t experience the consequences. All that changes for them is what box to tick every couple of years.Hate, bigotry, racism, calls for violence against minorities, exploitation of the underprivileged, fear mongering, treason... we could sit here for hours trying to break it down into atoms what that hat, that slogan, the organge shitbag who hides behind it and his asshole followers stand for.
But sure, "political views".
My grandfather on my white father side loaded bombs in the Navy during WW2.Ah yes quite convenient:

I still don't get why people are calling being thrown soda "assault".Yeah sorry I hate Trump but that grown man just assaulted a minor
Yeah, because they definitely deserve the benefit of doubt, fuck off.
Deep.Fighting for whats right is just as bad as fighting for whats wrong because the word fight is in it.
Aren’t you a cop? The belief that problems can be solved with violence is the entire reason your job exists.Well I’m out of this conversation.
I just want to say I never ever condone violence ever left right liberal conservative.
