A friend told me it got into sad and real stuff. Will have to see it tomorrow. Looking forward to it and also worried it's more depressing and sad than cheerful and funny
It's funny right until those last few minutes and then just becomes grim... I was surprised at how ballsy it was.

I hate how much I want to watch that Nancy Drew show. I know it's going to be like Riverdale and have maybe one good season before turning into insane garbage, but I just love a good spooky mystery too much.

Batwoman also looks surprisingly good. I really am going to have to decide if I'm going to watch at least two to three CW shows next season.

Their comment was on the extreme end sure but racist and homophobic type posts have received less. Unless berzeli has a history the moderation went overboard.
EGS topics have been dumpster fires for some time now. Moderation in them is strict to prevent them from becoming even worse. There's a mod post in every thread to try and keep things somewhat civil, but some moths just can't resist the garbage fire

What's the word on that Jessica Alba cop show? I keep seeing the commercial for it and it's getting on my nerve.

Thursday night's ratings. CBS's "The Big Bang Theory" series finale went out on a really big (bang) high! An average of 3.1 in the 18-49 demo and a total of nearly 18 million viewers. The last time a show went out this high on CBS was for the series finale of "Two and a Half Men" back on February 19, 2015 (3.2 in the 18-49 demo and 13.52 total million viewers), and before that it was "How I Met Your Mother" back on March 31, 2014 (5.3 in the 18-49 demo and 13.13 total million viewers). "Young Sheldon" greatly benefited from it as well, scoring its best demo (2.2) and total viewership (13.7 million) in its series run thus far:

With Big Bang and GoT ending this year, that will leave the Walking Dead as the only ratings juggernaut left, and even then their ratings are declining. Big Bang may well be the last of its kind.

Is Jessica Alba's business failing? She should be set to the point where she doesn't have to take any acting jobs unless she wants to, why would she take some shitty cop drama on Spectrum?

Alright, iltime to look into these.
.

Sorry Constance Wu, but I see Fresh Off the Boat lasting a couple more seasons. I predict that this show and blackish get the Friday Death slot, but they have a decent enough following to survive.
.

Going by standard TV contract lengths I have to imagine her contract ends after this coming season.

CW flexing their muscles.

There are a lot of CW shows that pop up same day on a number of regions (some tagged as originals, some not), Supergirl, Arrow, Dynasty, Black Lightning, Riverdale. Always assumed they were 50% of the reason some (looking at you Dynasty) were getting renewed based on terrible ratings in home country, that global distribution $.

And yet now they want to test the market on each show. But who else has the $ and the reach?

Unless this is all worthless speculation as it's a US only thing.

That's pretty much why CW doesn't cancel shows that often, those TV rights are very lucrative. WB has made billions off it the DC shows alone, hell Netflix basically paid 1.75M per episode of Gotham for at least the first season, wouldn't be surprised if that lasted for the whole run and why Gotham managed to make it to five seasons.

CW trailers:
Nancy Drew:

Well that looks like it could right at home with the Riverdale universe. Greg Berlanti pretty much rules the CW at this point.

Nancy Drew is Josh Schwartz from the OC though.

Midgar, With Love
A couple of Tick fans have been asking us Expanse folks for help in requesting renewal. I don't watch that show but I've sent a few emails on their behalf. /shrug

So apparently Lionsgate is looking to sell off Starz (which they just bought) and CBS is interested in buying it.

While spokespersons for both CBS and Lionsgate declined comment on any possible sale of Starz to the Black Rock crew, a conversation was certainly had by by interim CBS CEO Joe Ianniello and Lionsgate chief Jon Feltheimer in recent weeks. In that context, our understanding is that there hasn't been and may not be any formal offer by CBS, yet.

Is that legal? They already own Showtime and Showtime's only real competition is HBO and STARZ.

Time Warner owns 2 premium cable networks in HBO and Cinemax, so I don't see why CBS wouldn't be allowed the same.

Not to mention STARZ programming conflicts with Showtime's.

That could be an issue though. If they do end up buying it, I could see them maybe moving one of the networks' primetime schedule to Friday or Saturday.

Wish the fix wasnt focused so much on trial stuff. Sad its canceled as in some ways I guess they really thought theyd continue it? Unless there will be some major twist that will make the city drop the trial and charges.

Bing update.

Saw Bridget Regan in Person of interest. She's every bit as lovely as in all of her other appearances. I'm really liking what I'm seeing at One Day at a Time so far. It will probably make my show of the year list.

Speaking of which, is Game of Thrones guaranteed to get fail of the year at this point?

was just thinking about this today and yeah, seems like a lock (for me at least)

Very few people would agree with that I think. I never heard anything but praises for the first 4 seasons.

its dead souls. Life itself is fail of the year for him.

What is dead may never die? More like what is joyless may never...joy >_>

Yeah... at this point we should call it the Game of Throne award for fail of the year. No other show's topping that.

At least it may get more people interested. In posting.

  • Our Boys
Confirmed that 2020 will have:
  • The New Pope
  • The Outsider w/ Jason Bateman and Ben Mendelsohn
  • The Undoing w/ Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant
  • Avenue 5 w/ American Accent Hugh Laurie with a beard!
  • Insecure
  • Curb Your Enthusiasm

Not especially. After two seasons, it feels like wasted potential. Every episode makes it seem like you're on the cusp of something amazing happening, and then not very much happens.

It's also a show with world-building that works better the less you think about it. From the mermaids and their culture, to their historical interactions with humans in the show, and even several of the human institutions. They're all shallow pastiches that act like they have something to say, then never dive very deep into the implications of it.

I ending up watching it because I had nothing else to do and couldn't decide on better shows(like The Terror and Chernobyl)

I don't think I've ever seen a question's answer about a show be so perfectly lined up to the eventual feeling I had with it.
It continuously sets up interesting directions or things and the show just stays steady ahead.
if they do answer something they draw it out every possible second.

Only thing I can really credit it is not doing the typical love triangle crap
and jumping straight into awkward 3 way action
LOL

Young guys really don't like Charmed. But sucks for them, it got renewed already. Likewise young women and The Red Line.

So what do you guys think about network TV's fall schedule? The guys over at TVBTN think ABC's scheduling is a failure.

Anyone know what Share and Our Boys are? Not exactly SEO friendly names.
