Mindhunter finished filming in December, so it might be a little while longer still. And Titans was renewed before it aired!

See is another garbage show from Apple and frankly I'm pretty sure the only reason it's going forward is because of Momoa and his Aquaman buzz. They think it's going to be their Game of Thrones... but it isn't. It's very dumb. I really want Apple to succeed and all, but they've made some poor decisions.

We do need less superhero shows. Punisher seems to be one of the few good ones though.
I somewhat disagree with this. I think we need more quality superhero shows, of which there are very few -- though Punisher is absolutely one of them.

There's a lot out there right now, but most is absolute schlock. Schlock that pleases superhero fans, apparently, but still schlock. And we really don't need more of those... but they keep coming anyway.

I'm hoping the Disney+ MCU miniseries are a step up.

If they want Jason Momoa back in a sci-fi TV show just bring back Stargate Atlantis

He even got to be in Atlantis in that one -- instant sell now

Meh, I like Mamoa, but if Apple is going PG I'm just not interested. Get tons of that in the theatre and no tv budget is going to match film.
Agreed. I'm all for quality sci-fi G or otherwise but I couldn't be any less interested in a streaming platform that's family friendly only. I really don't see the business sense in it either. Just do like Netflix and have the separate kids account that automatically covers your feed with the family stuff.

There were several shows that apple was looking to produce that I was super excited for until I read the whole family friendly angle. Now I'm praying for Amazon (ugh) to be our new sci-fi Lord and savior

They saved The Expanse. They're off to a good start lately.
I still have to get on that. It's actually really odd that I haven't. I enjoyed the first four books and I have a soft spot for Syfy's more well done series. Maybe I can fit it in my backlog in the next couple of weeks

Come to think of it I may have been waiting for the first season to appear on prime. Wasn't it only the later seasons available at first?

Wait what... they are making a Doom Patrol show with those freaks from the Titans episode?

Thats... kinda awesome lol. Wonder if us Euros will get it on Netflix like Titans, one would assume so unless DC Universe is planning to go global in 2019.

Hmm, I'm not sure but I don't think so. Right now we're waiting for Amazon to add season three, which aired this past summer. x.x But hey, all things considered I can hardly complain.

Also, nice re: reading the first four books. You're in for a treat. This is a very solid adaptation.

They missed a great opportunity in Aquaman for Rodney or someone else from SGA cast to have a cameo. :)

Argh. They really did!

To each their own I guess.

They're a plague, and this generation thinks anything with a superhero in it is an award worthy masterpiece.
Way to be hyperbolic. I seriously doubt any reasonable person would expect super hero stuff to be anything more than good dumb fun. You sound like a cranky old grandpa there with that "this generation" blanket statement, haha.

I used to watch pretty much every CW Superhero show, Agents of Shield, Legion, all the Marvel shows, probably more I've forgotten about.

Now I've dropped everything except for the Netflix shows (most of which had good starts but haven't been as good since) and oddly Supergirl since it's one of the few my fiancé likes (I surprisingly dont hate it either, haha).

I've got a lot less time to just watch TV than I used to, and there's just too many shows I'd rather be watching than a Superhero show that hasn't been as good as it used to be.
Now I'll only binge one if I truly have nothing else to watch.

MacGyver began to dip earlier this season, but it seems to be doing better now. Although that said, it's ironic as before I was a concerned (when it was dipping), but even with it doing better now not sure how I feel about it improving. With Eads leaving the show. How can you have it without Jack Dalton.

Does anyone know if Counterpart on Starz has a definitive end in mind? After the most recent episode it seems like it might be headed that way.

Of course the writers have an end in mind, although earlier last year they said they wanted/hoped for/were planning for 7 seasons - something that's obviously not going to happen even if the show were a hit, which it isn't. After seeing the tepid (critical and audience) response to season 1, it's possible that the writers reconfigured their plan and decided to lower their goal to maybe 4-5 seasons, but it's hard to say.

Last night's episode seemed like something we would normally have gotten like 2/3 of the way through the series, so it's possible things are moving at an accelerated pace, but again, it's hard to say.
