So I really enjoyed the first episode of season one of Luther. That was some really cruel cat-and-mouse play going on. Killing Eve is something similar to that one episode isn't it? These two characters going for each other. If so I'm gonna have to give it a go.

Also , the first season of The Gifted was such an exhausting watch. I've still only seen the pilot of season two. I like the characters in it though.

Anyone watching this Titan game show? Shit it looking legit right now! and it was just the first matchup!

The last 2 matchups at Mount Olympus were really good in how close they were. That was the best part of the show for me. The qualifying games were hit or miss, I think it really comes down to luck of the draw how successful you would be and timing.

It seems like getting into any SYFY show as it's currently airing is a bad idea.

I wouldn't say that. They have had their missteps like Dark Matter, but allowed 12 Monkeys to tell its story, doing the same thing with Killjoys wrapping up later this year. The Magicians is one of the best shows on TV and they seem to show it support. If you really want to watch something on the channel now and have access, I would check it out.

Thursday night's ratings. The Titan Games did pretty well. The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon returned back strong. Gotham and The Orville returned okay as well:

That Orville number is down ~33% from the season 1 finale (0.89) which was the previous series low.

Yeah, I watched it. There were a few things I didn't really care about like the background information on each contestant feeling like it took up too much time but I think it might be necessary for the format. And one of the coming up segments spoiled who was going to win a match by accident.

The match between the power lifter and the fitness model seemed like it was going to be one sided so it was interesting that it was actually really close until the very last challenge where it became one sided. There are some things where people just can't have a reasonable competition.

I'm really intrigued that they don't really seem to split the challenges for men and women. Same challenge with the same weights. That is pretty cool that they didn't lower it for women.

Symptom of the premiere being on sunday and people not realizing there was another episode this week?

I hope that's the reason, would hate to see Orville return with consistent lower numbers (like what happened with Bull this season).

Also, it's good to see with SWAT coming back with a higher rating after the break.

Gotham real low, but I'm glad the series is wrapping up now, and only with 12 eps (which should reduce the padding).

'When Calls The Heart' & 'Dirty John' Set Ratings Records In Holiday Week
A two-hour When Calls the Heart holiday special on Dec. 25, which is kicking off the frontier drama's sixth season, was the most watched scripted telecast on cable by a mile the week of Dec. 24-30, drawing 4.8 million viewers (Live+3). In adults 18-49 and 25-54, When Calls the Heart: The Greatest Christmas Blessing was #3 with 860,000 and 996,000 viewers, respectively.

This was the most watched/highest-rated When Calls The Heart episode ever and Hallmark's highest rated series telecast to date. Season 6 will continue its run in February.
Dirty John, which already set a new benchmark as Bravo's highest rated scripted series debut, averaged 2.9 million viewers, 1.2 million of them adults 18-49, 1.5 million adults 25-54 (Live+3) for its sixth episode on Dec. 30. It was the highest rated episode of the series across all key demos, ranking as Bravo's highest-rated scripted series telecast ever.

Did this show get better as it went along? I watched the first season on Amazon Prime this past summer and really wasn't feeling it.
The first few seasons were very good IMO, mainly due to Travis Fimmel, but if you didn't like the first don't bother. The last few have been lesser but I still think it's watchable. Of all the VIking type shows out there, The Last Kingdom is the best, if you haven't seen it.

Friday night's ratings. The Blacklist returned with a series low in its new timeslot but still did much better than fall 2018 shows Blindspot and Midnight, Texas. Fresh Off the Boat returned with a season high:

So I don't want to say Hawaii 5-0 is necessarily good, but they basically had an (blah) Avengers-style episode by just bringing in a bunch of recurring characters together to work as a team. I have no idea if that was by design or by accident, but it's one of those things I don't really expect from a usually episodic CBS series.

Cool, thanks for the reply. I'll check out The Last Kingdom soon.

I'm like four episodes behind and I don't know and outside of a couple instances it's just been really boring. The people in charge should've been writing this season like it's going to get cancelled.
Especially with the Fox acquisition by Disney pretty much guaranteeing they'll cancel it.

I mean, plot-wise not much new happens in those 4 episodes. They really do have it like it's planned for a good long time, with no real ending in sight. I mean, I assume there will be like some final battle or something, but like, that's it? It's X-Men essentially, something that can go on forever.

I'm just really happy that Gotham is getting done, and I really do hope it goes out with a bang. I enjoyed it way more than I had thought, comic-goofiness and all.

Anybody watch that show YOU? Just curious, as it seems like a strange subject for a show and I have no idea what the direction is supposed to be(and Berlanti verse is on the rise, though this is totally different).
I just binged this after it landed on International Netflix. Definitely enjoyable, if a bit predictable in places. Except for the ending. That got me.

The whole time though, my wife and I couldn't shake the feeling we were watching a dramatisation of the life of Dennis Reynolds through another's eyes.

I have no idea how I knew that Verdon was Fosse's wife. Guess it's about their work together.

I am unreasonably excited for "Watchmen." It's probably going to be HBO's big summer show, and I cannot wait.

Sunday night's ratings. The Golden Globes are down a little bit compared to last year. I wonder if football helped it not go down too much:

This truly is the worst timeline.

The globes this year was like your contrarian friend that goes with all the terrible choices.

Obviously the statement implies TV was alright, but not way better. I mean, the fucking "Kominsky Method" won 2 awards.
