Welcome! A new year. A fresh start.

2017 was a very rough year...for everything except video games. They flourished, giving us one of the best years in all of gaming. We saw the release of some truly stunning stuff. Gravity Rush 2. Horizon: Zero Dawn. Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Persona 5. Uncharted: Lost Legacy. Hellblade. Forza 7. Assassin's Creed: Origins. Super Mario Odyssey. Gran Turismo Sport. And many more.

We also saw the release of two new systems. Nintendo Switch brought a whole new form factor to play and enjoy our games, and couldn't be more successful. Xbox One X brought sheer power like we have never seen in a console. PS4 continues to sell incredibly well. The console industry is arguably in the best place it's ever been.

2018 looks to be an embarrassment of riches, as well. This train is not slowing. Days Gone, Detroit: Become Human, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Far Cry 5, God of War, Sea of Thieves, and Spider-Man all look breathtaking. And there are more, of course, along with games we don't know the release date of.

So, we had a migration in late October that moved us from GAF to Resetera, and things truly worked out wonderfully. The community was reinvigorated, and we are now, honestly, better and stronger than ever. However, because we did move so late into the year, the thread didn't have a huge amount of posts. That's totally okay. I did want to give a shout out to the top five posters here, who spent time getting those perfect shots for us to enjoy.

  • Two screenshots per post, and two consecutive posts allowed.

What better way to start the year with the weird-ass cut content from Bloodborne, recently unlocked from the game within a chalice dungeon? Taken on a regular PS4.

Guys if you're going to special filters in photomode or photos not taken during real time game could you kindly specify them as such (like cutscene, photo mode etc). It's even mentioned in the OP, thanks.

I know that you've got a big-ass logo on your screenshots but can you still include the platform (and specify whether it was played on a mid-gen upgrade or base unit) in your post?

Man, Sunset Overdrive is going to age sooo damn well (i'm being serious), due to it's.... well, frankly rad! artstyle :)
REALLY need to replay it at some point... though, oh boy, that
GAF shout-out
at the end is gonna be.... awkard, lol

Good to see all these pics and can't wait for all the games coming out this year. I personally don't know of an easy way to post uncompressed screens from my ps4 but hopefully i'll figure it out one day.

I'm running into issues where I'm playing the game in HDR and take a photo in Photomode and then the SDR version looks kind of like crap. Xbox One X. At least on Assassin's Creed Origins. And when I go into Photomode the screen brightens a bit. I know you can adjust exposure and vignette but it feels like I can't capture exactly what I like. Also wish it had a few more options like brightness/contrast and better vignette options. Still can create some incredible images right in there. Anyone have a guide to Photomode for Origins?

Alas, here's an example of what I can take and what I'd like to be able to do in game but is a "bit" closer to what I see in HDR.
