Hey all, hope this is the right thread to ask but is there a way to take screenshots without causing a temporary stutter? Playing Life is Strange with DSR x4 and taking a screenshot causes a very noticeable stutter. I'm playing the game and saving the screenshots (lossless) to the same SSD.

Copying a framebuffer to main memory is relatively slow in a PC, and taking a screenshot often requires that the frame isn't updated. So most screenshot grabbing tools hook the present function in DXGI and block it till the frame is completely captured, then proceed. A 4X DSR shot might take more time than usual as it's likely very large.

Makes sense, kind of figured that was the case. I was using Steam for a while which causes a very big frametime spike but switched to MSI Afterburner and it's milder.

Love this thread, great pictures guys! Do you all play your games with Reshade on as well? I recently got my 2080 and been messing with my tv settings forever, but k cant seem to get those vivid popping colours without using my TV's dynamic contrast, but i want to use gamemode..
