BREAKING: Epic Games is buying Fall Guys developer Mediatonic, Olga Kharif and I have learned. Story hitting shortly

Edit: note that they're not just acquiring Mediatonic, but Mediatonic's parent company Tonic Games Group which also includes Irregular Corporation and Fortitude Games.

Can't wait for Fall Guys to be removed from Steam in a year.

Usually I'm an anti epic person

But this is a good acquisition. They needed more developers. More constant updates. And this will probably do just that. Also cross platform via epic accounts and cross progression

Consolidation everywhere.

It's also important to not that with just EGS, Fall Guys would never have been a success. Hope the Steam version will be fine long term.

Fall Guys coming soon as your free EGS game of the week. I'd switch from PS5 to PC in a heartbeat if they have cross-progression in the future.

Makes sense. I have no clue if Fall Guys is still doing big numbers or how long it's going to last though.

Makes sense for the developer. cash out while you're at the top. It'll be hard to replicate Fall Guys success

I'd like to see what the devs could do with a bigger budget and backing. Hope it works out well for them.

Good get for Epic and their GaaS empire I guess. Could be pretty big when they do Fortnite, FG cross over.

Not going to change things for consoles.

Funny how they are always saving these indie devs with games no one has ever heard of that definitely couldn't find success on other platforms.
