I do. Quake 1 is still the greatest FPS of all time so I'm completely on board.
...until they change engine 50 times, causing the project to be rebooted every time, causing further and further delays.

I dunno why, but ever since I first played Quake in the mid-2000s as a teen, I preferred the chunky N64-like software mode at 320x240. I think it's because to me, old games usually look too simple and muddy at high resolutions.
Dusk holds a high bar and makes me question if using the original engines are necessary, but hey Ion Maiden seemed sick.
edit: it makes total sense if the devs are most at home in the Quake engine, though, and if so then why not point that out in marketing I guess.

I'm very much hoping the right weapon might mean there's a melee element to it like Hexen/Amid Evil.
Hopefully this one will have a simultaneous console release with PC. I'm still waiting for ION Maiden to show up on PS4 this year.

Oh fuck yes. I'm really happy to see some devs tackling other Eras of gaming that isn't just SNES/NES.

Hrm, looks like it's the Quake 1 engine, but they're not going for period-appropriate modelling/texturing, like Dusk did. Looks more Hexen 2-esque.

It's kinda like all those NES throw back indie games, kind of a "rose tinted goggles" version of the era.

Interesting. This makes me want to go play Strafe but then I remembered the millennium edition content update on PS4 added a bunch of input lag and they never fixed it. :(

Replacing the radiosity lighting in Quake with real time raytraced GI (& shadows) would be friggin rad.
