Less ship combat sounds good. Hopefully more abilities to use; I think I got to a point in Odyssey where it was most efficient to only use Hero Strike, Predator Shot, and Rush Assassination as they one- or two-shot everything.

Fake. This is why: "Creative Director is Ashraf, Darby McDevvit is the Narrative Director" And that's where I stopped reading. Darby McDevvit is no longer working on AC.

Maybe i missed it but no female playable character?
The last screenshot shows a female NPC with what seems like a full set of equipment and wielding a weapon. That strongly suggests that they've got a character choice again.

Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland? Damn, that's a huge map!
Yeah, it's almost too large to believe, even with the usual AC compression. We do know they're doing a Viking game though, so it's difficult to see how they'd do that concept justice without having some significant portion of Scandinavia and some significant portion of Britain. Even with normal AC super-compressed maps that is going to be huge.

Map seems insanely large. UK alone is what, 5x the size of Greece?
Approximate comparison:

Leaving out Ireland since the leak doesn't mention it, but even with the mentioned countries the real-world geographic land area is well over ten times the size of Odyssey. Each individual country mentioned is bigger than Greece, except Denmark.

Maybe with the scaling, the London area will be about 10000 meters away from the Scottish Highlands. Just an 8 minute brisk horse ride.

For Honor's vikings village to get hyped! Should look even better on next-gen consoles! Ubisoft artists will nail it!

As a Swede, i approve of this! Just give me the opportunity to invade Norway, Denmark and Finland and make them subordinate to their superior neighbor lol!

i find it funny that people on reset trash 4chan and should for a lot of the horrid garbage thats on there, especially the posters that are not nice people. But I find it amusing that when it comes to insiders or leaks that get pointed out in other threads coming from there that a whole thread was created based off of a 4 chan leak.

Poetic.

Will they bring back mini-games, though?
Those have been gone since Black Flag.

Can't rightfully call yourself an RPG if you don't have a time-wasting mini-game. (See gwent in Witcher 3, caravan in Fallout: New Vegas, pazaak in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the casino in Dragon Quest XI, etc)

- Co-op is returning, and can be used in most side quests and world exploration

I like the sound of this. This was my only really complaint about Unity's co-op -- I really wished that they let you do a lot of the smaller non-story missions in co-op (in addition to the actual dedicated co-op missions).

AC games are always filled to the brim with (often tedious) things to do but they wouldn't be so bad if you could run through them casually with a friend.

What are the chances that the game will not be bloated, and instead have interesting content. Odyssey left a bad taste.

Hope they take a bit more inspiration from witcher 3

AC Odyssey has so much interesting content though. Don't forget that The Witcher 3 has so much bloat as well.

Mhm the screenshots look fake. A lot of the assets in there look like they have been taken from Unity Asset packs. I worked extensively with viking themed assets in the past. The quality of the terrain and the grass in combination with the lighting looks like the default unity shading, too. However I might be wrong and this could just be a debug mode from their engine and a very early prototype, but in the past the leaked screenshots from other ac versions looked far superior in quality.

That being said I can totally believe that at least the written part is real and am looking forward to see the game.

This isn't really related to the new AC, but I have to wonder if this is the new template for their big 3 open world games (AC, Far Cry, Watch Dogs) going forward.

New Dawn had a lot of RPG mechanics implemented into it, from gear tiers and health bars for enemies. I wonder if Watch Dogs 3 which is apparently coming this year will follow suite.

agreed with this. I'm having a hard time putting the game down. Building my assassin pirate is role playing I never thought I needed. sneaking into a fort to take down a country leader is just peak gaming in my opinion. mixing stealth with combat with ranged combat. This game is a complete package. I see myself playing this more than Red Dead 2.

Hm, the first and last screenshot look to me like retextured assets from the Unity 5 Viking Demo...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u13PTbsCOeM

Of course, if you want to stay true to the viking theme there isn't much you can do, but i do feel like these screenshots are fake. Might be wrong, who knows.

You are actually right.

Not from the same demo, but from Unity Blacksmith free assets:

Pay attention to the bridge that leads to the buildings that look like a stone valley:

No look at the "leaked" image:

It's the same. It's FAKE.
