It'll really suck if Rocksteady's next game is full of lootboxes and shit, but I expect it at this point. Warner Bros is a terrible publisher who loves to does stuff like locking entire characters behind preroders, having $100 digital versions of their games, and overpricing DLC. I mean, they put loot boxes into a fighting game, they'll do anything to get a few extra bucks while they dodge taxes.
I've seen plenty of typos from emails like this. I don't believe this leak is real, but typos wouldn't be a good reason to not believe in it.

YOOOO! This sounds awesome lol. I would love for this to be real. I know GaaS/Destiny type games are getting a bad wrap, but man this sounds so good.
Although, I kinda hope its not just Suicide Squad. I can see them being apart of it, but not the main focus for the GaaS game.

Recently replayed the Arkham trilogy and I honestly would be down for this. Arkham games always had great gameplay and immersive settings but the stories weren't anything to write home about. Bringing that to a multiplayer / co-op setting would be interesting imo.

Nice, I'm team real on this one.
Between Jason confirming Rocksteady's game is a superhero game featuring multiple heroes back in December and Rocksteady hiring a project manager specialising in GaaS last May (same dude who handled monetization for Shadow of War), this is definitely Suicide Squad.
Honestly pretty excited to see this and WB Montreal's game.
if this turns out to be accurate, in terms of gameplay they would probably not be that's similar they should probably be closer to something like I don't know a Warframe or Division I would assume.
It sounds like you're probably creating your own character so I guess that might be similar in some respect. And that game also works on the basis of multiple hub areas so yeah. There's that.
Oh almost forgot, this has to be on next gen consoles right? You wouldnt think they would release a new big GaaS type game right before the new consoles come out, unless its built to be played on both?

This is Rocksteady's game. We've known it's a superhero GaaS title for a while now.
WB Montreal's game is Superman and another open-world DC game in UE4 (no idea if its multiplayer).
I thought this was rocksteady's thing and Montreal is developing something based on court of owls?
If it turns out to be a "create your own superhero/super villain" game then I'm hyped. If it's a game with pre-selected characters then I'll be less hyped, but still gonna buy it.
I think this is what Jason was alluding to when he said it isn't a straight up Superman/Batman/JL game, but wouldn't speak on if they appear.

I thought WB Montreal's game was Batman with Court of Owls? They have two in development, though, so I guess the other could be Superman.
I feel like the more interesting thing to do would have been to make it based around Rip Hunter's Time Squad or something and have you go to famous DC locations in different time periods.

Whether this in particular is real or not, I can certainly believe that Rocksteady would be commissioned by WB to do a GAAS Loot-n-shoot type of game utilizing the DC universe. If for no other reason, than to have their own answer to Marvel's Avengers game that seems to be aiming for a similar audience.
Time will tell if I'll actually be interested, though. Raid-centric games that I can't play alone are the main difference between stuff that I can reasonably hang with because they allow me to play at my own pace, like Monster Hunter, and games like Destiny, that I inevitably dropped because I didn't have time to coordinate with other people.

If nothing else I hope they don't have you facing off against anyone particularly famous in the DC universe. Like fighting Ra's at the end of a raid or whatever already sounds like the worst thing in the world.

If it's another loot based game filled to the brim with Micro Transactions, loot boxes and horrible game design, then the end is truly upon us.
It's probably going to be stand in a spot and shoot random bad guys for 5 minutes before moving on to more spots to stand in, with you getting a loot drop every 10-20 minutes or so.

I'm pretty sure their main project is Court of Owls which is supposedly multiplayer while Superman is the other unannounced open-world game. There has been talks about Court of Owls releasing this year too.
Notice how the shirt is really similar to the Court of Owls insignia in the recent graphic novels? It's a done deal imo.
