10,182,126 € exactly. So about 10.25M $.

Organised by Adrien "ZeratoR" Nougaret and Alexandre "Dach" Dachary, Z Event is a yearly French charity stream taking place in Montpellier. This is a new record for the event (and therefore for any charity stream on Twitch) in terms of euros gathered.
However, considering the poor exchange rate compared to last year, the amount in $ is technically lower.

Once again, French President Macron congratulated the event, though this time, people (both streamers and viewers) have felt that it was especially in poor taste due to the government's inaction for the very issues the event is trying to fight against.

Due to how wide a subject climate change is, the organizers ended up choosing several charities (through a vote), instead of just one as was the case the previous years, in order to touch upon as many sides of the crisis as possible.

  • LPO (Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux, "Bird Protection Association"), a French-only charity focused on saving and protecting birds.
  • The Sea Cleaners, whose goal is to clean up trash both on beaches and at sea.
  • Sea Shepherds, fighting against poaching and illegal intensive fishing at sea.
  • WWF, I don't think there's a need to present them, but to be quick, they try to protect biodiversity and endangered species.
  • Though not a charity (and therefore did not receive any money), Time for the Planet was present to raise awareness for their project. Mostly focused on raising awareness among corporations, and how they can improve.

Here's a little chart of my doing to show how this event grew in importance throughout the years (despite having a fairly stable amount of streamers participating in it).

I really didn't think they would beat last year considering the situation. Congrats to everyone involved !

Edit: Obligatory "Parce que c'est notre projet !!!!"
