Crazy that it's been so long. We're coming up on 41 months since it was scrapped and rebooted by Retro. As the world's biggest Metroid Prime fan, I don't think it's a coincidence that there are rumors for a direct that happens to be on my birthday. I honestly we believe we will see it in some form in just a couple weeks. They are going to fully unveil Metroid Prime 1 for Switch, and give us a CGI trailer for Prime 4 with a holiday 2023 release date. Believe!

Just for fun, I did a poll. When do you think we're finally going to see the game?

I think it'll be an early 2023 reveal -> late 2023 release, think the Smash Ultimate release buildup.

Work
I said minutes before this was announced that I would go buy a Switch if it was.
It was announced, I bought a Switch that very week and I am still waiting.

I agree on the holiday 2023 release date. But as I think it's going to be a Switch 2 game, I doubt we'll see anything of it before January 2023.

They have Splatoon, Xenoblade and Pokemon for the latter part of the year and Zelda for spring. So even if it's done they'll probably sit on it until next summer for release in October

2023 feels optimistic, given how long it's already been, but I think early 2024 is fair. I do think we'll have a solid re-reveal next year with a lot of footage and promotional material, though. As much as it feels like a meme at this point, I think we'll see a Metroid Prime Trilogy release in the year leading up to 4. After Dread, I think Nintendo is more aware of the hype around Metroid and the numbers it could do (obviously not on the level of their mainstay IPs, but 3 mil is solid).

It releases when it releases, whatever. My bigger hope is that this, Bayo 3, and BotW2 have reminded Nintendo why they usually don't announce things so early in development so they can avoid this happening again.

part of me thinks they're making it be a headliner for the next nintendo console but who knows. it being rebooted at retro back in 2019 followed by 2 years of covid dev time so could still be a ways out. 2023 is when i'm expecting to at least hear about it again.

I recall Jeff Grubb saying that he expects this game to come out in 2025

lol at that video being titled "first look" when it's literally just a logo.

I think we'll probably see it again in 2024.

I think we'll see a teaser this year, especially if the Prime HD remake pans out.

Holiday 2023 Release Date I hope. I really think we'll get the teasiest of teaser trailers whenever they show the Prime 1 remake/remaster which I very much expect will be in the June Direct. I have the blind faith.

I've been predicting for a while now that we'd see it at E3 2022, and I'll stick to that prediction (assuming there's a Direct later this month). Though I suppose it may depend on when they're going to do their big BotW2 blowout.

5 years has flown by. I remember being at E3 2017 and waiting for the doors of the main area to open, everyone around me was watching the Nintendo Direct on their phones and you can feel the extreme hype about Metroid Prime 4 being announced. Hopefully we'll get more news soon.

I think this will be Nintendo's big marketing thing after Zelda releases so probably around this time next year

I'm sick of waiting so I'm going to make my own Metroid Prime 4 in UE5.

Be on the lookout for Betroid Brine 4 on Steam.
