"Winning this doesn't make my album any better than any other in that category."
I mean, it literally does. But okay.

lol
Yup, wish Janelle won it.Glad a gay icon won AOTY, even if both of the queer women nominated didn't win. I thought for sure Janelle would take it.
How did Kasey Musgraves become a gay icon?Glad a gay icon won AOTY, even if both of the queer women nominated didn't win. I thought for sure Janelle would take it.
Her song "Follow Your Arrow" got her banned from country radio years ago. It's a pro-gay song.
Oh wow. That was brave of her.Her song "Follow Your Arrow" got her banned from country radio years ago. It's a pro-gay song.
Golden Hour is one of the best albums I've ever heard in my life. I can't believe something I like actually won!
Are you new to Janelle? Listen to her previous albums, especially ArchAndroid, too.Added H.E.R. to my list too.
Listening to Dirty Computer currently, damn this is great.
I know her work as an actress and I've seen her performances at the Grammys but I have not listened to her albums completely. Thanks for the recommendation. Always nice when the Grammys let me expand my music taste. Are you new to Janelle? Listen to her previous albums, especially ArchAndroid, too.
Approachable doesn't necessarily mean better. She was snubbed hardcore with Arch and Electric, but I felt this one was a few steps down. Which is a shame, because MAke Me Feel is probably my favorite song/video from her. Rest of the album range from good to skippable.Janelle got totally ignored when she dropped her best album (The ArchAndroid), and then passed over when she released her most approachable work yet. What a fucking disappointment.
STFU
Glover didn't show likely because the Grammys have consistently overlooked black artists except in the "urban" categories. So, I'd hazard it was part protest, part thinking he wasn't going to win.
Best New Artist and Best Electronic Song.
