It's ironic, they brand Labour policies "far left", yet poll after poll after poll shows huge public support for Corbyn's agenda.

Sounds like they're closer to the centre than the media likes to admit.

Hence why Corbyn's policys are almost never attacked, expect in the broadest 'he wants to turn us in to Venezuela' way. His policies, outside of Brexit are pretty sensible socdem stuff, and popular when people havn't been conditioned to think they are evil because they come from him.

People believe the shit about bendy bananas, there's no chance trying to explain the need for social housing etc.

What I love about Centrists in England loving sturgeon is if she was English or in Westminster she would be called a commie by them.

I don't understand why this new little band of misfits doesn't just come out and support a peoples vote or something else meaningful. Why else are they leaving their parties if all they want is wishy washy non-commital statements of their values?

Sure, supporting a second vote might put some people off, but it will also attract a portion of the electorate - right now who are they attrracting, they aren't offering anything different.

Heidi Allen has taken to the stage. She says that he we heard yesterday about "the magnificent seven", then yesterday evening about the "lone ranger". Now we are meeting the "three amigos".
If we're doing cowboy metaphors, does this make Angela Smith John Wayne?

So when do these seats go up for byelections? Do they all seem like they will keep their seats?
Not until a GE. Most of them risk losing their current seat if they stood in the same seat again during an election, hence why yesterday they stated that they'd likely be running in marginal seats instead when it happens.

Lol they won't do that because they'll lose

They aren't putting the seats up. They'll hold until a GE then choose a different seat to win. Outrageous frankly

What the hell, they get to decide? Don't you all have any anti-defection amendments?

Technically speaking you vote for a candidate, not a party, so no, changing party isn't by itself sufficient to force a by-election.

How smart that is in a system where, in many places, you could shit on a plate, stick an appropriately-coloured rosette on it, and watch it soar into Parliament is an exercise for the reader.

Centrists are amazing because they look at the last two decades and think 'yep, it's the left that's to blame'.

This happens every election when people vote Tory.

I have a question for the Corbynites:
What's more important to you?

A) Remaining in the EU and insure a better future for young people?
or
B) Or absolute isolationist political purity?

I'm only partly on the Corbyn wagon but. I'd prefer we stay and make real changes, staying as is will just lead to more shit down the road.

I don't like these weird choices.

We know what the deal is, we've come to terms with it. In all seriousness, politics is about principles and ideas, not about unwavering loyalty to a specific party brand. If there's a genuine, electable, centre/centre-left, socially liberal, pro-EU, internationalist alternative to arise within British politics (and there's not yet sufficient evidence that this is it, mind you), I'm sure we'd all happily get behind it.

Not me.

All aboard the socialism train, Corbyn is too moderate.

I'm 100% not joking.

Heidi's recent poverty tour must've soured her on those values.

I mean... Not far off.

"Those that rely on the [safety] net are people and not numbers."

"I can no longer represent a party that can't open its eyes to suffering in our society. Suffering that has deepened, when it was in our power to fix it."

Except she has been entirely complicit in its making.

Mogg is definitely into getting his balls crushed with a high heel and calling girls "mummy". I'd bet everything on it.
