Some interesting numbers for Italy last year.

Total videogames market increased by +21.9% for a total of 2.179.000.000€, hardware including accessories generated 395.000.000€, and consoles 275.000.000€.

38% of the population are gamers (16.7 million), which includes 9.4 million males and 7.3 million females.
Avarage of 8 hours played every weeks.

884.000 consoles has been sold, including 722.000 home consoles and 162.000 handhelds consoles.
Switch/PS5/Xbox series account for over 500.000

174k lites last year is impressive. If Italy is like the rest of the world we're looking at close to 500k Switch units (66/33 split)

unless they count both lite and og as portables which would be a rather unique stance

Disparity between male and female players isn't too high. Happy to see videogames aren't a male dominated hobby anymore.

TloU2 is in a good spot. Should be even higher for the masterpiece that it is.

Italian market is bigger than i tought. Seems bigger than Spain, it's probably the 4th market in Europe after UK, Germany and France

You joke, but it's quite accurate. That's all my extended family play on their phones.

I usually look at the media create threads, which have titles I find more interesting. This one in particular has two cods, two fifa and two assassin's creed

Yeah, it's pretty shit. All my students either play FIFA, COD, or GTA online. I keep pushing them towards some of the better Telltale games and indies. When they don't ignore me, they end up telling me how I have opened their eyes to new kinds of games that can cost less and provide just as good an experience without being mind-numbingly repetitive
