MOD EDIT: Let's stop with the talk of accessing other regions' eShops for the sole purpose of exploiting regional price differences. The Switch is region-free so we can buy games that would otherwise be unavailable. Don't ruin it for everyone.

Oh hey, they confirmed another Arcade Archive game, neat. Still holding out for Punch-Out.

Might get '80s Overdrive down the line. Can recommend Phantom Breaker: Battlegrounds Overdrive considering it's $5 cheaper than the other versions AND you get the two extra DLC characters + the increased level cap that's usually about an additional $8-$10.

December starts really good with Xenoblade 2.

I'm used to see december as a relax month with few game releases but it seems besides xenoblade 2 there will be a bunch of cool indes releases.
My poor wallet. ;_;

I'd take 80s overdrive if it was on the Switch. :( Don't feel like buying eShop games on 3DS anymore.

Honestly will need a pallet cleanser to go with XBC2 because I need something lightweight when its not my turn driving when I head home with my sis. Considering Ironcast. Also I really want Yooka-Laylee, but without a discount I'm not sure if I will bite

I'm actually really interested in Phantom Breaker. Does anyone have any insight into that one?
I played it on both 360 & then won a code for the PS4 version. It's a rather fun beat-'em-up where you can level up your characters to perform additional moves, skills, higher attack power, etc. & has multiple difficulties which the higher the difficulty, the more experience you get.

If you liked that Scott Pilgrim game, it's kind of similar to that. As mentioned, you get the DLC included as well which added Kurisu from Steins;Gate & a character from Robotic;Notes along with upping the level cap from 50 to 99, making your characters even stronger/more OP. For $10, if you enjoy beat-'em-ups, I would recommend it, & I'd say it requires no knowledge of its source material (hell, did the Phantom Breaker fighting game even come to the US?)

Also, definitely downloading Pinball FX3, and may buy the universal pack depending on price(it's the only current one I'm super into)

Picking up Yooka Laylee for sure. The release date should give me enough time to dive into Xenoblade for a bit.

Rive has been really good so far, as of mission 5. Looks crisp, runs great at 60fps, and had a good amount of extras if you aren't into high scores and whatnot. I'm just in for the single playthrough, but it's awesome so far. Definitely testing my old man reflexes.

I'll say right now that (other than Neir if I get lucky to get that game for a good deal,) Xenoblade 2 will probably be the last game I'll be getting in 2017. It has been a hell of a ride this year, and especially for the Nintendo Switch. It will be nice to just kick back and enjoy an RPG to close out the year.

Also Battle Chef Brigade definitely was a standout game. Only wish that it had a bit more "multiplayer" focus to it like more characters, more interaction and so on. Still, definitely a great game in its own right and love the mix of combat and puzzles it provides. ^_^

I've been following 80's Overdrive since it was revealed, so I'm pretty excited for it. Never heard of Phantom Breakers but I love the look and seems like a fun Beat'emup, my friend would also be into it.
It reminds me, has there been more news on the game that Inticreates showed off during the Nindies showcase? I think it was called Marked for Death? The game looked fun as well.

Say, what BCB side character do you wish was playable? for me it's Quetzal/Teabot

I'm really enjoying Rive. Perfect for a quick play after work.

For this month, looking forward to End is Nigh and Slain. Getting XB2 on cartridge.

The wife and I need a new co-op game to play on one system. Would UNO or Monopoly be able to work on the TV with one Switch?

Seems like quite some people have picked up BCB? Glad to see people are enjoying it. I love art-style of the game, but it felt like the campaign was a bit short, even for an indie. Kirin was suppose to be a playable character at launch but not sure what happened. Hopefully they're not done with the game and they'll keep adding new stuff to it.

That would be a fun choice for sure. Personally, Ziggy would have been interesting to watch hunt. Hell, I just discovered BCB was a kickstarted game and that Ziggy was going to be a next push goal, but never got to it. He really did seem like a great idea for a playable character by using the undead to assist him in hunts and it was a shame there weren't more playable. Like I said before though, definitely the indie game I would say that won me over this month.

Thanks so much for the response! I'm gonna buy it. =]

Slain is awesome, I liked it. Played it on Xbox One and really enjoyed myself.

Game just oozes style, really cool! And the statues in the background have pixel boobies! So metal.

No problem. The first stage (well, "Stage 0") gives you a glimpse of what it's like to be fully powered up, but then afterwards, you lose said powers & will be weak, so it works as a motivator to level back up again so you can get that sense of power again, but it also sucks that the difference in what you can do is kind of big. But the fact there's multiple difficulties, including a harder one you unlock later on that gives you even more experience, helps with the grinding since it rewards you for beating the higher difficulties with more experience. Plus I should've mentioned you can customize how you level up your character, along with the fact they're not permanent so if you feel like you need to be stronger for a stage & can sacrifice the speed, you can remove some speed stats & use the points you regained in strength.

You start with 4 characters (though if it has the DLC, should be 6), but can unlock a whopping 6 more, so there's a total of 12 characters to choose from. Being on the Switch (& Vita), it's the perfect type of game to play a level, then put it down.

I ordered the Avermedia Live Gamer Portable 2 and it arrived today. With my computer busted for a while, I wanted a way to record some Switch games and this has a PC-Free mode. Using a micro SD card, you can record 1080p/60fps without the need of a computer.

I gave this a test and recorded a race from Mantis Burn Racing.

Gotta say, I'm pretty excited to start recording footage of other Switch games!

Cool, dude! I'm pretty excited. Thanks for the rundown, that was kind of you to take the time.

Haven't bought an arcade game in about a month. Any impressions on Soccer Brawl or Traverse USA?

At least next week looks promising with Top Hunter.

The wife and I need a new co-op game to play on one system. Would UNO or Monopoly be able to work on the TV with one Switch?

Quite sure Monopoly would be, sounds like they've patched the major issues with games taking 10+ minutes to start. Uno may not be as you likely shouldn't be seeing each other's hands.

Monopoly's loading time issue has indeed been patched. UNO doesn't support vs mode on one Switch, but it supports 2-player co-op agains AI.

Neir if I get lucky to get that game for a good deal
A bit OT, and I'm sure you've heard this before, but Nier is awesome. I played it on PS4, but I know the PC version had some issues - don't know how it is now, or what platform you'd be playing. GOTY for me, though.

Back on topic - XB2 (complete with Japanese audio) is ready to go. And I have to go out tonight. Sigh.

Also: anyone have any idea what could be going on with Jydge? Still not seeing the discount, but the other games from the PR have all been updated.

Edit: I just twittered at them (10tons). Am I doing it right???!??!

Edit 2: Response from 10tons:
JYDGE will indeed be discounted in #NintendoSwitch eShop today. The discount just hasn't gone live yet probably, should kick in within hours.

My recommendation for this month is Superbeat: Xonic, a really great rhythm game with a fantastic soundtrack and very scalable difficulty. I doubt I'll double-dip having bought the game this year for Xbox One, but it's quality stuff.

I really liked Nine Parchments demo, but my game this month will be Tiny Metal.

Also, I am keeping an eye in Acorn Tactics and Vostok Inc..

Rive has been really good so far, as of mission 5. Looks crisp, runs great at 60fps, and had a good amount of extras if you aren't into high scores and whatnot. I'm just in for the single playthrough, but it's awesome so far. Definitely testing my old man reflexes.
The Switch version is definitely better than PS4 version.

I ended both of them, and the big difficulty spikes from the PS4 version are gone in the newer Switch version.
Also, the HD Rumble is quite nice in this game (better with Pro controller than with Joycons).
The game is also more smooth.

So it was a really good game on PS4, but it's now a better game.

I can recommand this one.

Super Meat Boy should hopefully be out on Switch this month according to a Team Meat email.

Also looking forward to The End is Nigh.
