Other day 1 insta-buys are SEGA AGES Gain Ground and SEGA AGES Puyo Puyo.

I think the vertical orientation in Gain Ground is the final push I needed to finally pick up a Flip Grip.

My most anticipated release for the month is Girls und Panzer Dream Tank Match DX. I am a huge fan of the franchise and apparently the game is also really good. So excited about it!

Another anticipated release would be Ace Attorney Trilogy. Being my favorite gaming series of all time, I can't miss the chance for replaying these three games on Switch.

Meanwhile, I am getting Downwell today. Not getting Wargroove soon as I am playing Valkyria Chronicles 1 now. I have no rush for another SRPG.

Not eShop related, I just start playing 7th Dragon (the very first one) on my 3DS. I can tell this game is going to be great.

I hadn't previously realised that Reverie is getting a Switch release, let alone so soon - I've heard a few positive impressions of the PS4 version recently and had it planned for a sale purchase at some point, but I may need to consider it here instead.

So far, I've bought WarGroove and Rogue Aces, will buy Downwell shortly, and am strongly considering any or all of Thea: The Awakening (any impressions?). Tangledeep, Halcyon 6 (but, I own it on PC...) and Gabbuchi (thanks for the impressions, Epilexia!)...

My vote goes for Pool Panic - it's not going to be like anything else that you've played recently!

I picked up Blade Strangers because it's on sale and holy shit is this game ugly. Like what the hell crazy low resolution are these characters rendered at? Even with the AA option turned on (and why is it off by default?) look so jaggy it's insane.

Seems to play alright though I guess.

The eshop entry in coming soon section only indicates Japanese. But the Asia version of the original on PS4 does have English support so there is a chance.

Wow, Downwell plays amazing with everything from the game mechanics to the rumble, to the seemingly simple but beautiful art design.

Especially in TATE mode with the Flipgrip, the screen is huge! I bet they're making a buttload on it since the kickstarter, since its very popular and rightfully so.

And kudos to tolkir for making yet again an impressive OT :)

Each pack corresponds to a set of two characters. You can buy whichever one you want first to play as two of the characters, then buy the other pack to play as the other two characters

They aren't super comparable other than being 2D platformers that kinda look like Castlevania. Bloodstained: CotM is the better game, IMO. It truly feels like a sequel to Castlevania III. Odallus is worth playing though. I wrote this in the January thread:

Odallus is a great game. While it captures the tone of the 8-bit Castlevanias (and some other similarly moody games), the gameplay is decidedly more modern. I definitely recommend it but don't go into it expecting a faithful recreation of Castlevania's commitment-jumps or its high difficulty.

I feel like I'm the only one ever talking about Rain World so I'll say once again that it's one of my favorite games of all time. It's not for everyone but if you think you're up for it it's a hell of an experience.

Odallus has more in common with something like Cadash.

And there was a specific game on NES that had a similar color scheme and style that I am blanking on at the moment. It was either an Irem or Sunsoft game but the play style was similar.

Odallus really reminds me more of TG-16 side scrolling action platformers than anything Castlevania-esque. I played a bunch on PC but fell off.
