With all the news and huge/ridiculous expectations from everyone regarding Cyberpunk, that it lacks this and that, I personally think one of the most important things in a pure RPG, that I havent seen yet implemented, or not properly, is the need to go to the toilet.

Wouldnt it be "nice" if you're in a dangerous mission and you just need to poop so hard, that it fails the mission just because you didnt take care of that need before starting the mission? Seriously though, if theres an eating/drinking mechanic, why shouldnt there be a toilet needs mechanic as well?

What do you think ERA? Are there any examples of such a mechanic in games? I think Postal 2 had the pissing thing which was kinda funny.

Cybernetics can help with that as well, I guess. Future is marvelous. In Postal 2 you could alse put yourself out when on fire by pissing upwards, so there’s some creativity to be had with it...

I really, really don't think that's necessary. All you are really doing when you add that is adding another timer of sorts to the gameplay. I don't want to be in the middle of a shootout and have to poop.

It doesn't add anything.

if I go into a restroom stall in a game it's just to see if I can raise my Cocaine stat +1.

Leave feces out of games altogether.

Sounds like a useless mechanic that adds nothing. Maybe funny as a gimmick but you should never fail a mission because you forgot to take a shit/piss...

Imagine being on the cusp of solving some super interesting future crime, but first you need to go to the toilet and complete some South Park style mini game to pinch one off.

Why are the high levels of violence in games okay, but something natural that everyone experiences considered taboo?

God, American culture these days.

They should have had that in Fallout 4's survival mode. Especially in that game because you can just shit anywhere anyway. Then again, nothing stopping you from doing that in Night City really...

Seriously though, how can one make such a mechanic inetersting and not just another micromanagement check? Only have tree leaves - receive damage, average toilet paper - 4 hours until next time, exquisite TP - can go in another 8 hours. Ate something bad - non-stop diarrhea with negative effects on stats... and to say nothing about how difficult it could be to implement in a serious-tone game without turning it into a show like the aforementioned South Park.

I'll take a pooping mechanic. It's realistic. I just don't want it to be required for anything.

Sounds good. And if you go too long without pooping, you have to find laxatives, otherwise your dried poop will nerf your movement speed and abilities. And if it goes on even longer, the poop eventually breaks down your internal cybernetic components and causes you to turn into a literal Shit Monster.

I sure hope this isn't a response thread to a certain big thing that CDProject Red wouldn't commit to in Cyberpunk. Because if so that makes this thread incredibly fucked up.
That was my thought too, that they are comparing that to literal shit which they see as more important.

It's probably just a silly not well thought out joke thread but the implication is there

Mods be like

''Should I lock this thread? this seems like a joke thread......but OP seemed so serious.....what should I do? I mean...it would be quite immersive...and innovative, especially for a AAA game, you know what....maybe he's right, we do need a pooping mechanic.......wait what, no of course not, this is dumb, this whole discussion is dumb, why would anyone want to poop in a game unironically? but what if? what IF people do want to poop in a game and I just didn't realize it? Maybe we do need ahhhhhhhhhhh [Screaming Internally]''
