3070 for 1080p60 Ultra (assuming with all RT settings on), the PC space really had a huge jump jeez!

Yes, they are pretty high for 1080p and 60fps, there's something wrong.

Likely the updated version with ray tracing coming later this year.
A 3070 at 1080p60? That's crazy. Will there even be a 1080p mode on console? Native 4k? The cpu requirements are not particularly insane and the ram requiring 16 gb at minimum is not surprising considering next gen.

How/Why is it better to play on console?
I have a PC and console, but PC seems to be the best bet......why is it clearly better on console?
DLSS3 includes DLSS2, so picking it on a non-4000 card is just like picking DLSS2.
How? Consoles likely won't have ray-tracing on/look as good at 60fps. Remember this is at ULTRA (which is usually a waste). PC users can at least use DLSS, turn off raytracing, etc.
Minimum is a GTX 970 which is basically an 8 year old card. I mean this is a current-gen title after all. But I hope those recommended settings at 1080p 60ps at Ultra is with RT on with no DLSS, FSR or XeSS on.
RTX 30 Series was never that big of a jump from the 20 Series TBH.
Why? I'd play it on PC anyway, even if I had current gen consoles.
This really depends on what ultra setting actually entails. There is a massive gap between low and recommended specs there so the real question to me is what do you need for high or medium or whatever.

Guess I should've added that unless you have a powerful PC, you should play it on consoles(next gen ofc).
Why? These are very high requirements IMHO. If you've got a decent PC but also have a PS5/XSX then you'll probably easily get 60FPS+1080p on there than on your PC and its not guaranteed to be a stable performant on that PC either but on Consoles chances are that it might be.
Ofcourse if you just love playing on your PC even if there is a compromise in performance by all means play there.
It might also run like shit on consoles with dips all over the place. Who knows at this point? I have faith in the PC version, the first game ran buttery smooth on my old i7-4770k / GTX 980 rig. I don't see why this won't run great on a modern PC.
How do PC settings work?
There isnt only Ultra everything.
Even if you are at or below rec-spec you can tweak settings to get beyond console spec and still have the game run well.
Oh wait i didn't read the recommended settings were for ultra.

Then yeah a 3070 for 1080p/60 FPS for ultra quality as a recommended requirement doesn't sound too bad.
16GB of RAM though. 2nd game since Dead Space remake, we have a 16GB min. and recommended requirement for RAM.
Not Unreal Engine 5......theyve said its their in-house custom engine.
I guess that depends on the PC - I think they were referring to the steep requirements.
I have 3080 gaming laptop, but I'll play it on PS5 for the DualSense features and (possibly) better HDR support. Those are also a factor.
