Regardless how I do think that USA citizens understand how this is fucked up, I truly don't think a lot of people in the USA truly has a grasp how fucked up this looks to the rest of the world. This is every bit as much fucked up as that little smoking kid that went viral years ago. This is truly the darkest timeline and we need to get our shit together not just because of the United States of America, but because the NRA lobby IS trying to go to other places, like Brazil and other South America countries.

The Internet
Now, imagine this took place in a Muslim country instead of the US.
Imagine the outrage of an organization celebrating a 4 year old being able to use a gun then.

Yeah and I feel like USA needs to let that sink in. This is every bit as fucked up as this:

Let that sink in. USA is becoming a parody of itself, and we are losing our ability of getting shocked by stuff. We need to sort this out because no, this is not cute, let alone normal.

This is a ridiculous comparison because second hand smoke aside, the American kid could hurt others by knowing how to load guns without being a responsible age for learning how to shoot one.

Maverick and Steve,

Two names to whom no well adjusted adult has ever owned.

I have known way to many Mavericks...

Makes me want to cry. Truly sad on so many levels. Glad my kids just like Minnie Mouse and LEGO.

And I completely concur with you. My point is that both are absurd. Of course that neither the Indonesian or the American kid know WHAT THE FUCK they are doing. This is something that a D.A. should get a hold of it because if that happened here, I do think it could be considered child abuse. Here, in Brazil, the parents of this kid would probably be screwed up with the law and could even lose the custody of this kid. Now in the USA? I have no clue, because your legislation when it comes to guns is completely insane.

I hunt, but I'm not a trophy hunter. That's disgusting. Also, having a 4 year old handle a firearm is something else. Extremely way too young for that shit.

If this happened in Australia the kids' parents would be in trouble from govt child protection agency.

Kids would not be allowed in there full stop.

Lol that kid is like 1 one in a million to be honest, still fucked up but there's a reason why that story went viral.

I had someone that was a friend post a video of their daughter who was like 4 asking for a pink rifle. And both parent's <3ing it. This was like, less than a month after Parkland. I'm like holy tone deaf, this is terrifying. You have to come from a place of absolute privilege to find a kid who can barely walk asking for a gun "cute."

That is so ****ed up.

When I was a kid I just played with little plastic revolvers and this kid is actually working a real gun. He's so happy, to him it's just a toy and I don't blame him, he's just a kid but I blame his parents and I blame that girl for making him like this.

As long as the parents instill responsible gun practices, this shouldn't be a big deal at all but there's just so much ignorance against guns unfortunately.

People were foolish to bash the family for their hunting as well, they don't understand why it was allowed to happen.

Just outrage based on ignorance.

Wait, is there not a legal age in the U.S. for handling a firearm? Why's he even allowed to do this?

This is both sad and shocking as someone from outside the US.

Also, I haven't followed Kendall's opinions on inmigration and I don't want to label her but it'd be very ironic if she was pro border wall while here, if I'm not mistaken, she's wearing a dress with a design usually found in the south of Mexico, namely Oaxaca like in the image below.

Of course his name is Maverick.

That's terrifying in a child soldier conditioning kind of way. That kid is so happy at the attention he's getting and is being taught "This is good, this is the kind of behavior worthy of praise".

The tweet above about the kid firing off a gun he finds is like 100% accurate. You brought that kid to a range, and you misplaced him for a second and I could see that kid killing someone. And that's 100% on the parent.

Never too young for the NRA! They have been actively targeting gun marketing to kids for a while now. Watch the "Kids and Guns" documentary. It's down to the gun nut parents, too.

There is basically no difference between that video and ones I've seen of child soldiers being trained in other countries.

Well, maybe the shit-eating grin that kid has. But his insane familiarity with the operation of that gun coupled with how much affirmation he seems to enjoy getting from adults by showing that off...it's really weird. Deranged weird.

Maybe it's just because I live in Canada, but he's way too young to be that into guns. He treats it the way he'd handle a Nerf gun and probably thinks both would have the same result if you pointed them at someone. I dunno. It's incredibly disturbing casualness.

You wanna elaborate on the hunting thing, or...?

This entire post is laughable, but you could at least try to say your point instead of just implying people are wrong without ever saying why.

Many times I've considered buying a gun, mostly out of sheer fear.

Fear for my family, fear of the unknown, fear of societal breakdown and being the only house on the block that doesn't have one, etc, etc.
I read too much post-apocalyptic fiction.

But ultimately I conclude I just don't want to bring that kind of danger into my house. The risk isn't worth it.

To see this kind of thing celebrated is bizarre to me.

If I did ever cave to that fear and buy a gun, my kids wouldn't even know it existed..

Speaking of the Indonesian toddler being a chainsmoker, that news isn't actually about him. He kicked the habit thanks to the government intervention but then turned to fast food and became obese. The news there was how tobacco companies have been advertising in third world countries without any pesky regulations like it was 60 years ago because they can get away with more sexy advertising much like fast food companies in these places where people don't know as much about the dangers and there aren't as many campaigns or lobbies against it.

Why does a toddler need to learn how to shoot a sniper rifle? Like laugh out loud, that's mental.
Listen to the mom in the clip. Gun nut parents do it for "safety" cause they are very scared of the state of USA and they want to indoctrinate their children to "reflect the views of the majority of the American people i.e. that self defence is a basic natural right and that firearms provide the most efficient means for that defence" (completely false, it's the most accident-prone).

That quote is from a gun nut parent who made a pro-gun children's picture book "My Parents Open Carry" because there weren't any before. Gun nut parents worry their kid sees the guns they carry and struggle to best explain the reasons so they go to these lengths.

My stepdaughter's dad bought her a pink 9mm rifle for her 9th birthday.. it stays at their house.
Even she thought it was a weird gift. She just wanted some clothes and some crappy toys she saw on Nick Jr. commercials.
