4K users: To enable 4K, you need to switch to Fullscreen Mode first, then set the resolution, then you can switch back to Borderless Window if you want. Also, make sure that Windows Resolution Scaling is disabled.

Alternatively, try validating your installation.

G-Sync users experiencing performance hits: Switch to Fullscreen mode.

Users with random issues that pre-loaded the game: Verify game file integrity in Steam. If the issue persists, delete and re-download.

Having an issue with lag in menus. When transitioning from one menu to another takes ~10 seconds. And that's on an SSD! Tried moving the game to an m.2, mechanical drive, verifying integrity. Nothings works.

Worst of all, because of the issue, multiplayer is not possible. You are simply getting kicked from the lobby because of the lag.

I'm really out of ideas here on a fix.

It's a really basic port. Graphical options are limited, but most importantly you can't change them once you're in-game. You can't change a single fucking thing, not even leaving full-screen or changing resolutions. That's just so...BAD. Makes troubleshooting for performance issues a real pain.

I have a 4670K with a RX 570/4GB and 8GB RAM

I had microstuttering issues on borderless that went away by going exclusive fullscreen with vsync turned on. With everything at max except shadows at medium it seems to hold 60fps steadily at 1080p, although I get some minimal stutters sometimes when I fire a missile or there's an explosion. Maybe something related to asset loading or shader cache or god knows what.

Graphical settings are pretty bare-bones, but it seems to run well, at least. 1440p + High (the maximum) on a 6700K + GTX 1080 is usually bumping up against my G-sync cap of 141hz. Haven't noticed any framepacing or stuttering issues. Playing in Exclusive Fullscreen.

One of the cameras in replay mode "runs" at 30fps. How odd. :P

But yeah this game is thankfully running really solidly for me. Seems there's not a lot of interest for the PC version of this game tho, going by his thread.

My game in fullscreen doesnt show the right resolutions. My max is 1152x864 but i want to play in 1080p

You sure you're running at exclusive fullscreen and not just borderless?

Really strange. Are you running it over 60fps and 1080p or something?

I can't blame people for being disappointed with the PC port of Ace Combat 7. A game like this should support ultra-wide/triple monitor setups and most joystick/HOTAS in the market from day one. What were they thinking? Even Assault Horizon supports these basic features expected from a flight "sim".

Update on the issue.

Someone from Steam forums figured out a solution. If you are using any external DACs or USB headsets, just unplug those and everything will work just fine.

Its frikken UE4 why do devs keep locking it down.
At the very least let the .ini be editable and actually change things in the game.

Arbitrary Res no problem, ultra ultra settings no problem....id think locking the ini is harder than not locking it.

I've been hearing about VO not playing at all during missions where they're supposed to, anyone here experienced this?

This. There are like basic needs of PC gamers. Not to mention that this has less multiplayer options than the last 2 Ace Combats.

I don't know what Bandai Namco was thinking with this release. It's not 2003.

Disappointed to hear about how this turned out, that's pretty bad.

Guess I'll just wait for ps4 sale or some magical pc patch

My sole disappointment is lack of AA options. Want something better than mere FXAA, there are some noticeable jagged edges playing on 1080p. Probably need to force something with drivers... which i incidentally probably should update, they're several months old...
And maybe lack of LOD option, stuff on ground has rather limited draw distance.
I guess i'd complain about lack of control options but since i always intended to play this with Xbone controller, i can't really bother doing that. Can't imagine playing this with KB/M in the first place. Sucks about lack of HOTAS support, i was thinking of getting a low-end one to try things out, but unfortunately the one that the game supposedly supports is above my budget.

Otherwise, the game runs very well, despite technically being under recommended settings when it comes to CPU (i5-6600K without OC, i5-7500 is the recommended though the difference is rather minor). Been solid 60 FPS except for mission 14 and searchlights pointing at me, that drops FPS to about 45 strangely enough. Haven't run into any bugs or menu slowdown issues. Multiplayer felt lag-free (and very fun!).

The port is really solid from a technical perspective. I've played the first five missions and performance is solid, maxed out at 1080p on my aging i7-4770k/GTX 980 Strix. The game looks great and I'm enjoying the arcade flying as well as the story and cutscenes. I'm very happy that this game came out on PC, I'm tired of listening to my PS4 Pro fan overdrive in certain games. This and RE2 Remake are just stellar games on PC.

I'd love to see better AA and LOD options for AC7, but I can live with what's there currently.

I can understand that some people are disappointed in lack of HOTAS support, but it is not an issue for me.

For the people who'd like to increase draw distances:
You can increase the game draw distances by editing the game's Engine.ini file located in "C/Windows/User/YOURNAME/AppData/Local/BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment/ACE COMBAT 7/Config".

Then add the following lines in the file:
[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.ViewDistanceScale=10
r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-2
r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0.1
r.Streaming.HLODStrategy=2

As you can see here, the draw distances have been greatly improved:
http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/129240

Which means trees and buildings are now displayed at a far greater distance.
I hope it helped.

This is a great tweak, thanks.

Also, to remove Chromatic Aberration add this to Engine.ini -

I just bought AC7 on Steam and was trying to play it, but noticed that the opening cutscene was running at 20 FPS. Will lower the graphical settings at some point. Also there were two strange things about the game. One was there was no audio playing out of my computer despite the audio on my machine at 24. Secondly I tried to skip the cutscene as the prompt said to click F1, but it never responded. I thought when looking at the controls it would default to mouse and keyboard, but clearly it wasn't the case.

Anyone have any suggestions for these problems? The audio thing must be for my machine as sometimes when I try playing a stream the audio doesn't play, but do Ihave to go into options and actually choose a set up for me to play on mouse and keyboard?
