Exactly this for me.I've pretty much been day 1 for all of their titles after Demon's Souls, but this is giving me pause.

Lucky you...Sweeeeet :)
I can't wait to see what bizarre enemies and environments they throw at us. I've been on media black out since the first major trailer so I'm in for a treat !
How come?Exactly this for me.

Yes? It's one of the key components of the Dark Souls mechanics, and one of the reasons the Bloodborne combat is so different. They're different franchises with different gameplay styles. Not every game has to appeal to you or everyone.
I'd rather have developers realize their full creative vision than cater to the widest crowd possible, and so far it's worked out pretty well for From.
That ain't true in a post dark souls 2 worldThey just want to keep the mystery of the game
Does anyone really need a review for this game? it's a FROM game, you either love or you don't
The original release of DS2 is the highest rated game in the Souls series so the lack of necessity for a review part still stands
Tons of street fighter games had this, all they way up to Capcom Vs SNK 2.I await the day someone is asking for a slider in game that adjusts the combat pacing from slow to fast. Everybody has fun, screw game balance!
But as I said, Bloodborne is different from Dark Souls. Bloodborne has a faster combat that rewards aggression because From wanted to try another style, not because the Dark Souls formula wasn't accessible. That's my point. Bloodborne is fa tasting despite the change in combat. Many people would have said to never change the combat from Souls. But they did and the results were fantastic.
I don't think From games should be dumbed down at all, just that some aspects people think are sacred, maybe aren't.
I don't wanna be that guy, but do you have a source on the 60 FPS? I thought the frame counters were saying that it looked like it was unlocked in the forties and fifties on PS4 pro?Are the naysayers watching the preview footage that's out there? The first *five hours* of the game are out there in video form on YouTube. If you can't discern whether the game is problematic from those videos then I don't know what to tell you. Also, reports are that it runs at 60FPS 1080P on the PS4 Pro.

They're a stuck up bunch, aren't they? This is exactly the type of comment I expect from the Souls community.

This is one of the articles. There are several.
We have an American editor saying he's heard people will be getting copies early.
Can any other NA reviewers say the same? I do wonder if it's an outside NA thing.
So maybe they gauged during the preview events who would be good enough to handle the game and then they promised early codes to those who passed and told the rest there would be no codes this time? lol (jk)
I always side eye games that do this, will wait for impressions before getting it. Especially for the pc port.
Didn't read the whole thread so I don't know if it was already mentioned but I remember seeing on Sekiro Reddit a image from Shirrako YT channel a few days ago (before the previews hit) saying that it was going to have a full playthrough of the game on the 21st. Though I don't know if it's supposed to be a review copy or a early copy through other means.
I was also told we'd get one before release. Now, I can't tell you if i'm being lied to or not, so there's that.
Miyazaki
Reviewers already have the game so this wasn't true at all. I see several on PSN Profiles who have already earned trophies in the game.
I can confirm as well, i know 2 reviewers and they got the game recently.
Well none of the outlets I am following have given a date for the review yet? I asked two reviewers I know recently and they were told they will receive copies but not before launch. Streamers might get to stream it 1 day early. Those PSN profiles you see are early copies that broke street date. Sekiro copies are already in a lot warehouses.
Alright got any info on when the embargo lifts? It's always nice to have some impressions before release.
Nope, those are reviewers. True there's no date for reviews but those on PSN Profiles are reviewers.
At least two of the people on PSNProfiles who have it are reviewers. One of them being Patrick Klepek. Evidently they sent them out to some people.Well none of the outlets I am following have given a date for the review yet? I wonder if the new Armored Core game will get people saying "it's a From game!!" still as if they've only made 5 games.

How are you identifying that? I'm just curious haven't seen them.
Just googled their PSN ID's lol. So far all of them are reviewers; Atomix (Mexico), Gameblog (France), Kool Things (Poland) and Patrick Klepek.
Preorders are stupid, so I'm not going to try to convince you to do it, but DS2 isn't a bad game by any standard other than the ridiculously high one that From set with DS1.It's a game bad enough that I wouldn't blindly trust a product from the studio, even though I loved Bloodborne and liked DS3. I personally definitely need to wait and see reviews and the general public reaction to the game before I'll buy it. Apparently I'm not alone
