The Israeli army arrested Anwar Makhtoob, an 18-year-old Palestinian, over several old Facebook posts two weeks ago. The military prosecutor readily admitted that there wasn't even a suspicion that he had committed a crime, but instead of releasing him, as one might expect, the prosecution and the judge decided to keep him in prison, so that he could be put in administrative detention.

...
Administrative detention is a practice Israel uses to hold Palestinians indefinitely without charge or trial on the basis of secret evidence, often in the absence of a crime.

...

Administrative detention orders are reviewed every six months, and can be renewed indefinitely. The detainees and their lawyers are usually not told of what crimes they are being accused or shown the evidence against them. The result is that it is virtually impossible to defend oneself against an administrative detention order. Under international law, administrative detention should only be used in the most extreme cases but Israel uses it regularly.

...

According to Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem, at the end of October 2018, there were 481 Palestinians — including two women and four minors — in administrative detention.

"If in the past the army would place Palestinians suspected of involvement in violence or armed groups in administrative detention, today the army is jailing completely normative teenagers — who have no political affiliation — without trial on the basis of all kinds of photos and posts on Facebook," Zaher, the lawyer, told +972 Magazine.

And for those who wonder about the source, here's a story about the organization

The fuck...
I hope the new Dems speak out against this and get the tide rolling on pushing back against Israel for their inhumane BS.

"our only ally in the Middle East" if the US wasn't so laser-focused on fucking all the other ME nations (exception being Saudi Arabia/UAE) this statement wouldn't be true.

Israel is run by bad people, it is very hard to argue against.

So how will the international community react?

Will they get a North Korea and Iran treatment?

No, the contrary! Politicians will kiss their ass and try to imprison you for saying otherwise.

Do you love your freedom?

Ha, that's not unlike some of the bans I've seen dished out in these threads.

Fuck Israel and all of their supporters that enable this bullshit.

Haha Israel is as a terrible neighbor as Saudi Arabia. Incredible the double standards the world have. Blame Iran for everything bad and then let the Israelis do whatever they want. Saudi Arabia funding terrorist groups and bombing civilians none stop? No problem.

Eh, the mods can handle some light ribbing. Props to them doing better with the way they handle these threads, which (as many of us here can attest) was very hit or miss just a year ago :P

Kinda have to do better, anytime people post about the fuck up things any other country does there is always people saying fuck X country. No one gets banned in those threads. For example the thread about the Chinese detaining ethnic muslims and putting them into reeducation camps got a lot of fuck China.

Next thing we know Israel starts picking up children using some minority report like shit for suspicion of crimes that could be committed in the future by these kids. Uncle Sam's favorite lap dog.

They already do exactly that.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children_in_the_Israeli–Palestinian_conflict

"In September 2009, after documentation emerged showing Palestinians children as young as 12 were prosecuted in adult military courts, Israel established a juvenile military court, 'the first and only juvenile military court in operation in the world.'"
