After half a year, FFVIIR gets its first update (ver. 1.01)

Sigh. Again with door meme so I'll Just copy my comment from the other thread:
The door meme is getting a bit tiring. I mean chapter 8 had puked ps1 level textures everywhere you look. Chapter 15 had a low-res jpeg filling up half the screen all the way. Shouldn't those be the memes instead?

Who cares, they're all indicative of the same problem, the door is just earlier and more noticeable.
Maybe Europe gets the update later since PS5 comes out a week later here (Still, fuck you Sony for that).
I don't have the update yet and the game released day 1 over here.
But it's most likely a PS5 compatibility patch and the console comes out later in Europe.
I have no idea, just a thought why it's not available everywhere.
If the update is true, I hope it made the pull-up minigame easier. Only trophy left for the platinum

The high res textures are in the game files yes, its an LOD bug which causes the problem.
There were people getting stuck in the vent in shinra tower (button prompts not showing up when needed I think?). I think I remember hearing it was an issue if it had been a long time since you reset your system by the time you ran through that section, but I'm not completely certain. Didn't have the problem on my playthrough.
If you tried to peek down a vent in the area after the VR battle thingy it would lock up. I did a lot of VR shit before without saving rofl.
Hahahaha. I hope they never do, honestly. It will become a staple of the game.

Does anyone have a screenshot of the official update notes in the PS4 menu? Just curious.
This certainly contains a PS5 update under the hood. If new/updated games have to be PS5 compatible since last summer, I'd expect at least some basic improvements for framerate and resolution.

This is one phantom update alright.
I just started playing this for the first time literally last night. I had no idea about the door thing but noticed something was off immediately when I got to the slums. Reminds me of older UE3 games on 360.
I didn't know this was a widespread issue. I had this bug and quit the game because of it.
I mean, it should be backwards compatible without a patch - at least when run as a PS4 game. Seems a bit early to roll out a PS5 boost mode patch?
