After years of Gaf lurking, I finally get to join here.

I'm in the same boat as you, OP. It's nice to get to talk to the members now. No other forum attracted me like GAF did, so its nice to be part of this.
It really does. I was on GAF almost daily for years now, but never as a member. The fact that I can actually reply to people now will definitely take some getting used to.
The recent events on GAF had more of an effect on me than I thought. I've been a member there since before the forums split from gaming-age and a member on the current incarnation of the site since 2004. I was shocked by what I saw, and discouraged that lightning wouldn't strike twice, not knowing if I'd ever find another place like it (before recent events) again. Thankfully, the community stepped up to replace the massive hole, and I couldn't be happier to be a part of it. Mostly been a lurker over these years, but I plan to post more, as others that lurked as I did have stated. It's only fair to contribute back to the community that has already given me so much personally, and many others as well.
Returns are early, but this is starting to feel like home again. Thanks to everyone that put in so much work to make this happen!

Ive been a lurker on GAF for years.
Used to check /r/Games, Gematsu and GAF for game news every 5 minutes lol.

Lurker here as well. I was a regular (posted as thrillkill) on TeamXbox back in the days until IGN took over and screwed the founders. I then promptly committed account suicide via posting ET porn on several threads. Never could get approved at GAF, but happy to now be posting here. Promise I won't post ET porn.
Hey all! Well, what to say. I'll introduce myself as well.
I'm a member of the Player One Podcast forums, and to be honest, I never really heard about GAF until I joined the P1P forums around 2014. Never applied for a membership because wasn't feeling the vibes, but I did lurk a great deal due to some really great OT threads devoted to some of my favorite topics, such as the awesome thread that was everything Mario, or anything Nintendo related.
Despite Zelda being my favorite series since I was a kid, oddly enough I was a Sega kid growing up until my beloved Dreamcast was laid to rest, and then became an unabashed lover of everything Nintendo once the GameCube and GBA hit the scene. I just really love Nintendo.
Controversial opinion! The Sega Saturn was superior to the N64 and the PlayStation :D
As for my favorite game of all time? I think my avatar says enough ;)
Also, I'm not American so please excuse all future typos and iffy use of the language!

Hey guys! Want to properly introduce myself along with the others (since seems like this is the default introduction thread now).
I've been an active lurker on the previous forums for close to a decade, but was never able to join due to email registrations. I have a handful of friends that have been on the other forums for awhile now and it's finally nice to be able to join them. I'm a bit shy and a tad awkward, but I'm hoping I can warm up to you guys!
I'm a big fan of Japanese RPGs and have been since I was around 8 years old. I also take interest in rather obscure games that either weren't localized or slipped under the radar for many. Although RPGs are my primary form of gaming, I do like the occasional Shooter and Platformer. Funny enough, part of the reason I started joining various forums over the years was because of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, which sadly has been on a sharp decline since forever. Was a big fan of the series growing up, but now more of a casual fan.
Either way, I hope to be able to call this place a home. Never been able to quite find a community that shares a lot of my similar interests, and always wanted to join the forums with you guys.

Same for me here Virtu Al, was waiting for the approval of my account at gaf but had been lurking there for years, it really was something I did almost daily.
So to be here at the dawn (excuse me for the cheesiness) of a new era is truly a awesome experience.

I only joined GAF in 2013 and only sporadically post, only roughly 1.5 post/day in my time there according to statistics, but I aim to write more here on ERA, with a more long form reviews or impressions :-)
I was never able to get a GAF account because I never had the kind of email they wanted, lurked since around 2011? It'll be nice to actually be able to post this time around, even if it's not often.
Same thing here! been lurking for years but was never able to register with my ISP email.. Enjoyed many game/tv shows OTs and various hype thread madness. Very excited to be able to contribute to this fresh community.

Same thing here - I was a regular, almost daily lurker since E3 2013 but never could join on account of the paid email rule. I have the community to thank for broadening my taste in a lot of things, games, movies, music, etc, so I'm really glad to be an official part of it now. Can't wait for the PGW and PSX threads coming up over the next few months...it's weird to think I'll be part of the discussion for once :)
Hi I've been a member of Neogaf since it was Gaming Age Forums in oh about 2002. I've preferred mainly to just lurk because I get enjoyment from reading the forum and I've only ever posted sporadically over the years. Well with the new forum and fresh start I hope to change that and be more active now. It's nice meeting everybody.
Count me as another lurker on that other site. I might have more posts from today on RE than I did there. I did read that site and visit quietly for damn near a decade and grew to know and respect many of the posters that are now here.
Figure that with this site having to start from scratch, I should try to add to the discussions more often. Plus I don't have to feel like an idiot because I have Junior listed under my username.
