The runner doing it has the world record at 5 hours 45 minutes~ so you're looking at around 6 hours, and that's what their estimate is.

Celeste literally has a text when you start talking about assist mode and how you can use it if you feel it is getting too hard.

Also Celeste restarts you on the same screen you die and have unlimited lives. I suck at platformers and had hundreds of deaths on multiple stages but it was still one of my favorite games of last year. Give it a try!
