Truly -- even if the match is a slouch, that's not a problem. One of them had to be considering the card, right? The bright side is every other match on the card will be good in comparison

Won't need it. Road to DON and BTE will fill that role more than enough. I'm sure some stuff will happen in kayfabe @ starcastt too.
Contract expired, no 90 days no compete for that. So, did Dustin get his release from WWE? If not, just surprised they'd let this happen.
I hope they integrate a lot of Road's style into the TV show.Cody getting DDP's film production crew doing Road to Double or Nothing (and presumably building out from their contacts) seems like a real coup. Steve Yu is legit super-talented.
They're the ones who've been doing the whole "Road to" series? If so yeah they've been doing fantastic.Cody getting DDP's film production crew doing Road to Double or Nothing (and presumably building out from their contacts) seems like a real coup. Steve Yu is legit super-talented.
That's my hope too. Really like getting to know the talent and keeping the grounded and real feeling will help make it work and get people over. I think it'll help get fans much more emotionally invested. A lot of the tertiary stuff WWE does for their roster has all been great! The episode of Photoshoot with Charlotte got me emotional in no time at all. Never mind I'm a big ol softy when it comes to seeing people grieve lol. Would be great to see stuff like that in place of the filler matches and unnecessary feuds people don't care for.I hope they integrate a lot of Road's style into the TV show.
More of a sports doc/authentic feel to it. Would be something different.
I want an OWE match, man! GIMME THAT MARTIAL ARTS MOVIE SHIT!Wonder if they'll announce anymore matches. There should at least be 1 more match as there are some woman on the card who aren't in a match yet.
Yeah, I'm disappointed the whole card isn't a stunner/showcase. Was so close to looking like a total package for the most part where every match would deliver on some level.I am fine with Cody doing his thing as long as that keeps him away from the stuff I like. Call it the AEW bathroom break q:
We're getting that with the 6 man tag with SCU vs. CIMA and 2 OWE guys. Don't know who he'll be picking or if they'll announce them ahead of time though.
We've been super underestimating the elite's drawing power all this time. crazy.
that said, dallas wrasslin fans truly disappointing right now. new japan blessing what was once a great wrestling territory with that show. kevin von erich rolling in his grave right now.
WHAT'S DARK MAIM DOING IN THE ELITE ZONE?!

More of a sports doc/authentic feel to it. Would be something different rather than angry or snarky promos back and forth backstage with an interviewer or in the ring all the time to get things across.
Yeah, but a much better group of people are handling the storytelling now, should be good.Is it?
Seemed like this would be a forgettable midcard feud in WWE ten years ago.
To be fair, 90% of the card is more than fine.
Its definitely looking that way so far.Hangman vs. PAC is going to be great. Could see it being match of the night.
Still can't believe what WWE did (or rather didn't do) with PAC. He was always great in the ring but he found himself as a character at the end of his WWE run. Should have been in a better spot rather then stuck on 205 as he was. At least we're getting this now.Its definitely looking that way so far.
Both of those guys are almost guaranteed to be future champions if they stick around, especially PAC. Gonna burn it down at DON.
Punk is too stubborn to return at this point, I think.Meltzer made a brief comment on WO radio about how CM Punk was actually Tony Khan's "first pick [for AEW], before the Young Bucks and Jericho."
Not surprising. Only person outside of WWE that has both the name value to casual fans that Jericho has and could get hardcore fans more excited then the Elite since it'd be his big return and if he's motivated.Meltzer made a brief comment on WO radio about how CM Punk was actually Tony Khan's "first pick [for AEW], before the Young Bucks and Jericho."

A year from now he'll still be getting his ass kicked in amateur MMA contests.

"I don't need wrestling, I can do this!"
*squashed*
"Aww shit....well, nonetheless."

Even if he wants to come back, think he'll keep doing the dumb masked indie spots to scratch the itch.
Yet, look at what he just did.Punk has already made it clear that he has no desire to wrestle again. He's not coming to AEW or anywhere else.
