The saddest part about this for me is that PAC vs. Page had to take place in that crappy super small indie-style ring. I hate when it "feels" like wrestlers don't have enough room to work. When they run the ropes and it's literally one step until they turn around have to get the move off or sell. Looks and feels too claustrophobic and diminishes the scale of the match IMO.

Personally I would love this but I think there is a zero percent change with him being in Cleveland on the 25th and saying he would announce where he is signing on the 30th at Bar Wrestling.
Yeah I can't see them advertising Joey for another show on the same day and having him no show for a swerve with AEW. That would be shitty and I doubt they would do that. At least I hope they wouldn't do that.

Especially given that AIW literally just got fucked over by another AEW roster member this weekend and had a very public callout about it lmao

I think the way PAC got himself dq'd and then attacked page after made him look like even more of a chump of a champion than if he was just pinned clean by Omega, ya know one of the top three wrestlers in the world.

It sucks because, while the roster is shaping up nicely, there's not many main event stars yet and PAC fit that bastard heel role to go against the elite perfectly.

Then it isn't going to be Joey Ryan. Who else is left?

It is hard to predict who going by the "it is going to be a better match" line The Elite gave to Dave. Not many wrestlers that are better than PAC available. The "better match" could also mean better as in wrestling skills or better as an spectacle. If it is the second, then Moxley is a good candidate, even if I think they should hold his debut for something bigger. If it is wrestling wise, then maybe someone from Japan like Kento or Sekimoto. Or it could just be someone like Tye for all we know.

I agree. It would have elevated everyone if PAC was in AEW and stuck to whatever the original plan was. The exposure of a huge show like Double or Nothing alone would have even been beneficial for Dragon Gate. A company that 95% of wrestling fans probably aren't even aware of.

All Japan have shows on the 25th and 26th so you can rule out Kento or Sekimoto.

I'd rather use Moxley as the Joker card and debut him that way. Pull Glacier from the battle royal and have him put on a 5 star classic with Page.

AAA also has a show that day, that is why I did not included anyone from there, even if Aerostar is not wrestling that day. I doubt it is him, but we could see Aerostar in the rumble. The other choice is someone from DDT like Mao or Sasaki (who wants to come to the USA).

Enjoyed the Page vs Pac match they aired today on youtube. Sad it wont be on the PPV but its a nice build up match and honestly I see it as an opportunity to build Pac vs Page into one of the feds first feuds. Run him ducking the ppv and
injuring page in england with chair shots to the leg
as a ton of heat at the PPV vs the mystery opponent then have Pac actually show up at the PPV and interfere further costing Page the match. Build up the Bastard gimmick, protect Pac from losses with cheap shit like this while he's still holding a title he needs to look strong with outside this fed till he's freed up and really work the angle.

Hoping this is how it runs at Double or Nothing now. Really enjoyed the match they aired and feel their is a lot of potential to run this whole thing into a great angle for both men and the fed while attention is on it.

If they start with that wacky interference BS on there very first PPV then the whole no DQ's and how they want win and losses to be important will mean absolutely nothing.

Thinking about it, sacrificing an entire match just to establish that wins and losses matter gives me good vibes. They're committed to their vision, I'll give them that.

Love these poker table vignettes. Just 30 seconds to a minute of character work to simply give the viewers something beyond a name.

One is probably going to be a AAA wrestler. Aerostar is not wrestling on the 25th AAA show (he could also be wrestling overseas). Wonder if they manage to get a visa for an OWE wrestler?

So I know basically fuck-all about pro wrestling in general, but what would be the chances of a team like The New Day joining or appearing on AEW? Perhaps not as that name (I'm sure WWE own it), but as something else?

New Day specifically is doubtful. They are treated well. Only way that happens is if WWE were to work with AEW which will meter happen. Only team that's probably leaving and would definitely be wanted by AEW is The Revival.
