Still laughing at Perez's chunk and pray interception earlier. Was Price playing like crap before he busted his lip? Just tuning in, broadcasters said Price was cleared to play.

I summon the mighty power of AAF rules knowledge people!
I was reading a summary about some of the anti-blitz rules the AAF uses compared to the NFL. They mentioned there is a limit of 5 players who can blitz, but any player who is lined up and/or on the line of scrimmage at the snap is counted as one of those 5 players automatically.
Does that mean the AAF is effectively limited to 5 defensive players on the line of scrimmage at maximum? Or they can have 7+ players on the line of scrimmage while defending, but no one can blitz other than 5 of those 7+ players on the line?
I'm also aware that some or all of these rules expire in the case of passing plays.
Yes, to let the linemen have a chance and make it easier on QBsI'd like to ask this one more time after the new weekend of play:
Basically, do the AAF rules limit the defensive team to 5 players on the exact line of scrimmage due to the blitz thing?
Nice, so it's potentially 7v5 for the offense! I wasn't sure if it extended to "you can have 7 on the line BUT NO BLITZING" or outright banned 7 on the line. Thanks.Yes, to let the linemen have a chance and make it easier on QBs
yeah it's a temporary change just to let offenses adjust, they said they'd reevaluate the rule after a season or two to see if the offenses can handle extra blitz packages, there is a reason a lot of these guys aren't on an NFL roster. Last thing you want to do is get all your QBs hurt,Nice, so it's potentially 7v5 for the offense!
