Still laughing at Perez's chunk and pray interception earlier. Was Price playing like crap before he busted his lip? Just tuning in, broadcasters said Price was cleared to play.

What a dumbass for running into the kicker. Might have just cost your team the game.

Wow, that was almost the exact opposite of last week's game.

Birmingham takes it with a field goal with three seconds to go.

I'd like to ask this one more time after the new weekend of play:

I summon the mighty power of AAF rules knowledge people!

I was reading a summary about some of the anti-blitz rules the AAF uses compared to the NFL. They mentioned there is a limit of 5 players who can blitz, but any player who is lined up and/or on the line of scrimmage at the snap is counted as one of those 5 players automatically.

Does that mean the AAF is effectively limited to 5 defensive players on the line of scrimmage at maximum? Or they can have 7+ players on the line of scrimmage while defending, but no one can blitz other than 5 of those 7+ players on the line?

I'm also aware that some or all of these rules expire in the case of passing plays.

Basically, do the AAF rules limit the defensive team to 5 players on the exact line of scrimmage due to the blitz thing?

I don't know if this is a new thing or not, but I noticed that they have replays of this week's games on the AAF site now. These two have the TV commentary:

https://aaf.com/games/s1/w6/birmingham-at-san-diego
https://aaf.com/games/s1/w6/memphis-at-salt-lake

These two are just the raw feed:

https://aaf.com/games/s1/w6/arizona-at-orlando
https://aaf.com/games/s1/w6/san-antonio-at-atlanta

I'm not sure why that's the case. The Birmingham and Arizona games were both aired by NFL Network, but only one has the commentary. They don't have replays on the previous weeks' games.

Nice, so it's potentially 7v5 for the offense! I wasn't sure if it extended to "you can have 7 on the line BUT NO BLITZING" or outright banned 7 on the line. Thanks.
yeah it's a temporary change just to let offenses adjust, they said they'd reevaluate the rule after a season or two to see if the offenses can handle extra blitz packages, there is a reason a lot of these guys aren't on an NFL roster. Last thing you want to do is get all your QBs hurt,
